E. Jean Carroll on Monday filed court papers seeking “very substantial” monetary damages from former President Donald Trump for his scathing remarks about her at a CNN town hall on the heels of losing a $5 million lawsuit by her earlier this month.
Carroll’s move came as her lawyers asked a Manhattan federal court judge for permission to amend the original defamation lawsuit she filed against Trump to reflect his new statements on CNN about her, which they say likewise are defamatory.
Carroll’s new proposed amended lawsuit notes that during his CNN town hall interview on May 10, “Trump falsely stated that he did not sexually abuse Carroll, that he has no idea who Carroll was, and that Carroll’s now-proven accusation was a ‘fake’ and ‘made up story’ created by a ‘whack job.’ ”
“Trump also insulted Carroll’s character and downplayed his sexual abuse of her by asking ‘what kind of woman meets someone’ and then ‘within minutes’ plays ‘hanky-panky in a dressing room,’ ” the amended complaint says

I think she is about to lose everything she has.
Of course she did. I actually think the award against Trump will eventually be overturned. Trump has just as much a case against her (and others) for defamation as she does him, if we are going to go with the defamation laws as defined by the judge in that case. No other case of defamation previously had been defined by the standards this judge allowed. If the “but Trump” exception is used against the left and becomes precedent, all celebrities and media personnel will be able to sue each other into poverty.
For look at the allegations made by the left against Trump in which many accused him of much more than anything he said abut those on the left. Yes, this is a leftist NY/DC type jury, all made up by hard-core leftists, but eventually Trump will get a jury made up by normal Americans, and that jury may just heap all the harm caused to Trump over the years all on one corporation or person. At that point, the lawsuits will dry up.
He will win on appeal.
The judgment money will be reversed.
She will pay legal fees.
It might not happen for a couple of years.

Strange world we live in. What you described is the opposite side of the “just lay back and enjoy it” coin. You cannot defend yourself from lies without getting hit with a defamation suit? This is nuts.
