For anyone who had a parent, grandparent, or great grandparent receive benefits of any kind from the LBJ 'Great Society" handouts (over $10 trillion and counting) they repay for the benefits received by their ancestors from which they now benefit.
Say, up to 5% of gross income until the $10 trillion is paid back.
Seems just as fair as 'reparations'...
When everything is equitable it wont be fair to anyone.
Just as fair as having everyone else payoff your student loans. If I would have known that you could get loans of money that you could say you were using for education but instead financed trips to Cancun with, I would have been all over that college sh!t. 60 tons of frozen steel in Graf in the winter (3X) was much more character building.
My dear mother, who spent much of her adult life raising 7 kids at home while Dad worked 2 jobs, went to work outside as a secretary when she was 50, when our youngest sibling was a teenager. She worked (and paid into social security) for about 12-13 years, then collected social security for the next 33 years.
I estimate she collected 15X-20X what she paid in.
Its not just LBJ’s “great society” programs that were a scam.
You always have the option to start paying it back by not cashing your Social Security checks and never going on Medicare.
I don’t care. Your mother does not deserve to starve because she raised 7 kids.
That's a ridiculous thing to say. The progressive lie that Fed.gov checks save people from doom is pure BS.
All Fed.gov intervention does is change people's economic calculations and trade-offs, and displace other options. Mostly for the worse.
She had 7 caring children, her husband of 60 years, her own home. She was not going to starve.
You don’t think that thousand bucks helped your mother? I understand that things were cheaper then but still. Owning a home is ridiculously expensive. My home cost me 41,000 last year between mortgage, property taxes, homeowners insurance and a new roof. That’s just the majors. How can a women get a 24,000 roof without social security? I’m waiting 16 years to 70 to get social security so I get the max (that I can with my income).
Reparations for me but not for thee
