The US Navy has asked Yeoman 2nd Class Joshua Kelley--a drag performer whose stage name is "Harpy Daniels"--to help secure more recruits for the service by acting as their unpaid "Digital Ambassador."
Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro fended off criticism by pointing out that "there is a rich history of non-binary behavior among seagoing men. Long voyages on vessels devoid of women fostered creative sexual liaisons. We thought embracing this history could tap into a recruitment pool that has been largely ignored."
Rep. Sara Jacobs (D-Calif), vice chair of the Congressional Equity Caucus and co-chair of the Transgender Equality Taskforce, praised the Navy's initiative and pointed out that "sodomy has a long tradition in seafaring. I'm glad to see that rather than macho posturing, the Biden Administration is working to create more opportunities for LGBTQ individuals to serve in our armed forces."
Robert O'Neill, a former member of the Navy Seal team that killed Osama bin Laden, had a less optimistic view of this development, saying "protecting this country means killing our enemies, not dancing around in women's clothing and makeup."
Secretary Del Toro dismissed O'Neill's complaint, calling it "the typical narrow-minded perspective of a grunt. There are bigger issues than he can comprehend. It is the job of those of us in charge to make sure that these bigger issues prevail over his simplistic 'kill the enemy' logic."

I assumed sailors had a lady in every port. This sure presents a different picture.
According to the Bee, the Navy is also offering unlimited BudLight to new recruits.
This simply cannot be explained by ignorance or stupidity so quickly after the Bud-Light fiasco.
NO... THIS IS INTENTIONAL! New recruits are NOT what they want by doing this!
This is a statement to the world about our weakness.

Maybe the US Military is recruiting drag queens because thy heard the Chinese Military will not shoot female soldiers
....I believe it was Sird Winston Churchill who observed many years ago that the Royal Navy of many years back was characterized by “rum, sodomy and the lash...”... this recent development is absurd...I just cannot believe that this sort of thing would not only be tolerated but encouraged...this is NOT my Navy......

I wonder if there is any truth to the rumor that they are dropping (using the old meaning of the term) “Anchors Aweigh” and replacing it with “In The Navy”.

...I wonder how long the Navy will continue to use blatantly sexist ranks such as “Seaman” or “Airman” or “Fireman” etc...the time-honored rating of “Quartermaster” will have to be changed also....soooooo sexist.....!! maybe “Quarterperson”...?? it is just so absured....
While I was in the Army they tried to take away the name everybody would use to address soldiers with my rank. “Chief”. I guess the Indians complained.
I guess if there is a female sailor on a submarine, she will be very busy.
I fail to understand the popularity of modern “drag shows”. What kind of people bring kids to watch that garbage?
Monty Python skits are funny both because they’re absurdist and because it was a longtime theatrical tradition to use male actors in female roles.
However, their comedy is subtle and not overtly sexual.
Perhaps the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” was the beginning of the descent of modern comedy into vulgarity. I found it repulsive.
I think it's driven by virtue-signaling people who think that being "tolerant" (of evil and perversion) is the highest and greatest good.
