My dad gave me that growing pains diagnosis when I was 10. I almost died. (My doctor told my school nurse that I was “the sickest child he ever saw that didn’t die”.) Osteomyelitis.

I had a good friend who went for a dental cleaning about forty years ago. The hygienist working on her noticed Annie’s gums bleeding quite a bit. She called the dentist who packed Annie’s mouth with cotton. She started to vomit and gag. There were MDs in the same building and one of then responded to the dentists call.
