Justin Jones, one of the so-called “Tennessee Three” who ended up expelled may be back on the job in no time. According to a new report, Jones appears to have secured the votes from Nashville’s council to be reappointed to the position he was removed
The Democrat was booted from office after he and two others helped lead an insurrection that breached the Tennessee capitol building. Jones then used a bullhorn to lead chants on the chamber floor in solidarity with the mob. Republicans came together and voted to expel him on Thursday.
Exiled Tennessee state Rep. Justin Jones is expected to be reinstated Monday after a Republican supermajority booted him from the state Legislature last week for participating in a gun safety protest inside the chamber.
The Nashville Metro Council is voting Monday afternoon to temporarily fill the seat before a special election. It’s anticipated that Jones, 27, will earn enough votes from council members to regain his former seat. The Black freshman lawmaker is planning to then lead a march to the statehouse and return to work just as the Legislature gavels in for an evening session.

great, good to know there are no rules and anyone with a bullhorn can now simply push to the front and yell at everyone whenever they want!
The ball is in your court Tennessee Republicans.
Expel him again. And again. And again.
Folding would be worse than doing nothing at all.
GOP squishes have a compulsion to show their manginas. Time to primary this useless caricature of a man.
They are not being reinstated, the local state jurisdictions are planning to appoint them to temporarily fill the vacancies until a special election is held to fill the vacancies. They will likely run for those seats again in the special election.

If that is what the people want. Hell with them. They deserve what they get. And it won’t be nice.
You read the article and it doesn’t appear to match the headline.
But typical of many things from “RedState”
Actually, all three of them should have been jailed, held for two years in solitary, and treated just like the “insurrectionists” held by the Feds after January 6.
Republicans did not fold, may not have. The local folks reappointed the expelled legislator. Republicans may have folded if they gave him more than voting rights—that is, if they gave him back his committee assignments. He should get absolutely none.
If there are no serious penalties for mobs taking over the legislature, there is no reason to have a legislature.
Welcome to mob rule.
“GOP Speaker Appears to Fold”
What else is new?
Not true bro. Only the rats 🐀 can do it, and get away with it. How long before the other rats get back in?
This is what the GOP does best - make some noise and then fold like a cheap tent.
They can simply refuse to confirm him.
I agree but N’gr justice is not the same as white justice....
We are done as a nation because of this.
We let them destroy the cities, schools, job market now the country...
Not the country I grew up in......
This F’n pisses me off. Do R’s ever show any stones?
The locals can only appoint a successor, not the same person. Hopefully, our state GOP has grown some spine recently. I doubt it, however.
.
It’s Mid-April have the R’s subpoenaed Hunter Biden?
It’s been reported, but they actually subpoenaed some banks.
My daughter told me that TN has a rule that you can’t be expelled for the same offense more than once.
Don’t know if true, but I think we’re going to be stuck with him.
Yeah, including that only 2 of the 3 were expelled.
The third one that was not expelled was a white 60 year old woman. During the hearing she made the case that she was different than the other two. That she didn’t use the bull horn to incite anyone.
And as soon as she avoided expulsion she claimed the reason she wasn’t expelled like the other two, is that the other two were young black men and it was completely racist.
Fox called her out for her hypocrisy.
