Chicago's new Mayor-Elect Brandon Johnson told a group organizing for a "police-free future" that black people should be removed from "state-sponsored policing" as a way to fight "white supremacy."
During the George Floyd riots in the summer of 2020, Johnson came out in support of the "defund the police" movement and spoke on a panel titled "We Don't Call Police: A Town Hall on a Police-Free Future" in which he praised organizers for pushing "an agenda that actually can transform people's lives," the Chicago Tribune reports.
"And part of it is removing ourselves away from this, you know, state-sponsored policing," he said, "but also the tools that have been placed against Black folks that have been used violently, whether it's policing, or administering standardized tests, or ... around how white supremacy finds its way in every facet of our lives, that we have to fight and resist that."
Johnson also defended looting during the Floyd riots, stating that "what we're seeing obviously is an outbreak of incredible frustration and anguish" that's tied to "a failed racist system," Wirepoints reports: Johnson was asked by a WGN-TV interviewer at [the time widespread looting was taking place], "Do you worry about stores leaving Chicago and the county because they don't think it's safe?"
Johnson bristled at the concern. He replied, "these companies have insurance and assurance." He also said, "you can't take a certain level of urgency to protect capital and the wealthy and not have that same tenacity to provide relief for families that have been devastated through structural racism for generations."
Johnson amplified the point, saying, "We have to redirect dollars away from a failed racist system and move it into the hands of people who really are trying their very best to survive day-to-day. And if we can't do that as a government, we are failing to meet the moment…To continue to criminalize people, and to chastise folks for being poor, it's tired and it's old. We actually need a new direction that really calls for massive investments in neighborhoods." Johnson also claimed in a debate that standardized tests have "roots in eugenics to prove the inferiority of Black people."
He later distanced himself from the "defund the police" movement, stating: "With all due respect, I get how they are trying to paint a brother. I get it. But I'm not going to be subject to a hashtag that no one can define."
Johnson also said just weeks ago he never said "defund the police" -- despite stating during a debate that defunding police is not "a slogan, it's an actual real political goal."
Johnson defeated pro-police former Chicago Public Schools CEO Paul Vallas with 51.42% of the vote versus Vallas' 48.58% in Tuesday's election.
Though Lori Lightfoot was voted out as a result of "widespread dissatisfaction from voters over her handling of crime and policing in the nation's third-largest city," voters replaced her with someone who is even more radical.
“To continue to criminalize people”.
No, lack people criminalize themselves by committing and unbelievable number of crimes compared to the rest of the populace. Black men aged 15-35 are 2-3% of the population and commit almost 55% of all murders. Trying to blame this one white people rather than on the total and complete social breakdown of black culture is insanity. It is an argument that a petulant child unable to govern himself might make.
And the folks who voted for this mess will leave too, and look for new nests to foul.
I still have my Ferguson. BAA-WOOOOSH! Now that’s a Man’s Flush!
“Conservative, law-abiding, smart people in Chicago (of all races) should heed Scott Adams.”
Multiple newspapers have pulled the popular office comedy comic strip “Dilbert” after its creator Scott Adams made racist comments in his podcast, and then doubled down on them.
“I’m going to back off from being helpful to Black America because it doesn’t seem like it pays off,” Adams said. “The only outcome is I get called a racist … it makes no sense to help Black Americans if you’re White. It’s over. Don’t think it’s worth trying!”
“I’m not saying we should start a war or anything - we should just get away,” he said as he continued discussing race in education and other issues.
Multiple newspapers have pulled the popular office comedy comic strip “Dilbert” after its creator Scott Adams made racist comments in his podcast, and then doubled down on them.
“If nearly half of all Blacks are not okay with White people – according to this poll, not to me – that’s a hate group,” Adams said during his “Coffee with Scott Adams” vlog, referring to a Rasmussen poll published this week. “That’s a hate group, and I don’t want anything to do with them.”
The poll that Adams cited asked two questions: (1) Do you agree or disagree with this statement: “It’s OK to be white,” (2) Do you agree or disagree with this statement: “Black people can be racist, too.” The poll found that 26% of Black respondents said “no” to the first question, and 21% said they weren’t sure, which Adams concluded meant 47% had a negative response.
“And I would say, based on the current way things are going, the best advice I can give to White people is to get the hell away from Black people,” Adams, continued, adding:
“There is no fixing this … you just have to escape,” which he said was why he moved to his current neighborhood that has “a very low Black population.”

Chicago can’t be fixed. Get out.
If you voted for this guy, stay there!
Hard to believe but this clown sounds like he’ll be a bigger disaster than the previous loser. How stupid are the voters in Chi-town?
Very stupid.
“ Chicago can’t be fixed. Get out.”
Heh…that’s what I say about America now.
Emphasis on “stay right where you are”.
The only downside is that Brandon's time in office will accelerate the migration of Chicago liberals and ghetto dependents to areas like Aurora and DeKalb, furthering the decline of those areas.
Maybe if Big Brandon could get some really outrageous tax increases in place at the federal level, the good-intention liberals in the suburbs would be forced to stay where they are and deal with the flood of good-intention outcomes moving into their neighborhoods and schools. This waiting for God to sort em out is getting tiring.
Harold Washington might as well be George Washington.
The Cook County democrats will be baffled when the 'burbs throw up a wall along the east side of the Tri-State tollway, and watch the show. At least, when the Outfit ran the city, it showed a profit.
But as I understood it, they and their pet had already been threatened by the time they waved their guns at the menacing crowd. Did they handle the situation wisely? Probably not, but then...it’s easy to sit in the comfort and safety of our homes and criticize them...when the threat was definitely real and adrenaline producing.
Point is, it’s not the menacing leftist crowds being punished by the DS left. It’s anyone being menaced by them that dares to stand up to them and push back.
Rittenhouse’s life was threatened...on video...yet he was treated as as if he was the terrorist and a violent criminal.
Industrial Strength Stupid....................
As much as this saddens me I believe this is probably for the best. Electing Vallas would have only prolonged the agony of watching the inevitable death of a once world-class city. Regardless of how much Vallas would have supported the cops or how many new cops he hired as long as Kim Foxx or some other Soros financed “woke”, affirmative action imbecile is the Cook County State’s Atty, then nothing will change. That and the demographics would have been against him anyway.
So, best to elect Brandon and put a round to the head to end the suffering.
Flee Chicago. Run for your lives.
They need to stay right where they are.
