Authorities in Dallas, Texas, are searching for a pet owner who was caught on camera dumping a helpless pooch on the side of Dowdy Ferry Road in Southern Dallas, a road that is popular for animal and trash dumping. Footage obtained by WFAA showed a man getting out and opening the back tailgate of his white Chevrolet SUV and letting a German Shepherd dog out around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Last week, I saw a terrible video out of rural Russia, where a German Shepherd was ganged up by 3 wolves and led away to be eaten. The German shepherd had no chance to defend himself or run away. The wolves had him within a minute and he was gone.
This is what happens to abandoned animals, if they aren’t shot by farmers or hit by cars.
I hope they find the guy and hit him with a few thousand dollar fine. It would have cost him nothing to drop him off at a shelter, with a bs story about an inability to care for him anymore. That dog is beautiful and would have been adopted shortly afterwards.
People that do that are scum. That’s how I got one of mine. Some low-life dropped her off on the side of the road and she ended up at my house banging on a window to get in. She’s 11-years-old and a housedog. The scum adopted her three years ago from the shelter so she had a chip. I formerly adopted her through them. I already had two inside and one outside. I didn’t NEED another dog but no way I was letting that sweet girl go back to the shelter.
So what. Millions of human babies are murdered each year.
Here’s the thing, dullard. As human beings one can feel compassion, or even outrage, about more than one thing.
They are completely unrelated.
In fact, if kindness were more prevalent--more highly valued--in our society, both animals and babies would fare better.
Emotions are elastic, not rigid. It doesn’t take away from how horrified we are about the murdered babies to spare a little pity for man’s best friend.
A man brought in some puppies he’d found out on a dirt road. They had been put into a sack and left in the middle of the road so that someone would run over them, but he managed to see the sack in time.
Hey there dullard, how do you feel about that cow on your plate?
21 years ago I use to work in a warehouse in Greenpoint Brooklyn for Poland Spring water company in the middle of this industrial hellhole section of Greenpoint, Kingsland ave and Greenpoint ave which is probably the most depressing place in NYC which got even more depressing on 911 because we could see the whole attack across the water.
Anyway, the place was so depressing it use to be called (still could be) the cities dumping ground for pets. Oh yeah and this was located right next to a sewage treatment plant and a canal so try to imagine the level of rats running around there, and THAT is where the cities supply of spring water was kept!
So a matter of routine I would run into a bunch of kittens while waiting for the bus, or a puppies covered in bites, or dogs near death. You cannot believe how many vile scumbags are out there who throw away pets like you would throw away a paper bag.
One really disturbing episode stands out and still bothers me to this day: I use to have the night shift 3am to 12 noon and that particular day it was absolutely freezing out, I was waiting for the bus to go home and it was one of those days where it was so cold your face goes numb and your eyes tear up.
Well anyway while waiting all of a sudden I heard this “peep” and then another “peep” “peep” and I looked down and there were about 6 kittens totally freakin out begging me to save them, some a-hole must have just dumped them out around the block and they went running to me like lightning knowing it was certain death for them.
So the bus comes and I picked up a kitten and I asked the bus driver if I could take a kitten on the bus and he said NO, so I had to leave them and all I remember is seeing the kittens in the street as the bus pulled away. I think I quit right after that, just a hellish job.
I was going to say helpless dog?, until I read dog chased the car :(
You eat dogs? That explains a lot.
>>Hey there dullard, how do you feel about that cow on your plate?
Does it hurt to be so stupid?
She banged on the door?
It’s not a stretch that people who do this have lost their moral compass in some way.
Someone on the thread mentioned an abandoned animal being dropped off that was chipped. That happened here a few years ago. The guy who dumped the dog off claimed she had run away - except multiple people saw him open the door and coax her out of the car and drive off. He got a $500 fine for that and had to surrender his two other dogs. Also ended up losing his job over it.
The dirty little secret is that most animal abuse/abandonment occurs/originates in urban areas.
When I worked at one of the “hoods” that is the west side of Rochester NY, I would see a pit bull mix left outside chained to a fence in sub zero weather with no shelter, food or water in sight.
One of the large black women who worked there overheard us calling it in to the animal abuse hotline and acting perturbed, she blurted out (verbatim) “that’s just the way us black folks treat they dogs!” (sic)
Which was ironic because the second the temperature outside would dip below 60F “urban folks” would be on the phone screaming about needing heat.
We’d often have to explain that furnaces aren’t supposed to run constantly thus the purpose of a tstat. They would all keep their apartments at 80-90F in the winter aka blast furnaces yet run around in shorts since the state was paying their heating bill.
If not, it is quite clear that your concern for aborted babies isn't due to kindness but instead some kind of perverted self-righteousness.
It’s not stupidness. It’s evil.
My wife keeps threatening to do this.
But to me.
Ona serious note. People who would do this ARE scum. There are shelters and other options. This is lazy and just plain evil.
In the country we know how to make sure stray dogs are taken care of properly.
She banged on the window. LOL
The windows at the back of the house are close to the ground. My dogs have their own “puppy room” that is fixed so that they can see out the window. There is a twin bed under the window and they sit there to see out. She heard them barking at her at the window, so she came to the window and started hammering on it to get in. I went to the door and called so she came to me at the door. She walked right in and stayed. She immediately bonded with my girls. I guess she was meant to be here.
