The wealth of The West doesn't often have the warmth of a Javanese village child's simple smile.
Praise The Lord For All Of Creation
She’s beautiful!
What a sweet little girl.
At least it seems she’s safe from the woke BS we have to deal with.
I pray she stays safe-God Bless her!
I remember that when we were kids, a decent sized piece of cardboard gave us hours of fun. We would use it to slide down a hill in the summer or make a fort using it and a couple old blankets or even a doll house for my dolls. Today, how many kids think they need more to be entertained? We didn’t have smart phones or smart TV’s but we always had fun and were creative.
It seems kids with less are often happier. Simple is often better.
You white folk are "othering" and "objectifying" this colored girl, "colonizing" her with your white paternalist gaze, imposing your narrative onto her truth.
My wife and I had a neighbor over, who brought his 4 and 6 year old kids. We have a desk lamp that projected light on a wall.
The kids noticed that, and we spent the next 40 minutes making hand shape-shadows on the wall, creating stories about the creatures we had invented. The kids loved it. We had them giggling the whole time.
I had two thoughts. First was yours, which is very true, and the other was, the absolute need to protect children's innocence while they are educated and formed to later face the world.
I remember when very young (7-13 yrs old range), my Dad’s starched shirts came with a long folded shirt size piece of cardboard tucked in between the fold. I always looked forward to getting that piece of cardboard out of the plastic bag they cam; e in from the cleaners and would make all sorts of stuff out of the cardboard. Doll cut-outs and outfits I used crayon to color them with, buildings, forts, animal characters, hearts, designs of all kinds, signs, you name it, I made it. A cheap, simple form of entertainment that occupied hours of my childhood time, spent creatively and I loved it.
I often noticed that if a child is given clothes or “educational toys”, along with a balloon, often the child will go right to the balloon to play with.
Simple pleasures.
Thank you for some optimistic news
What a darling child, and what a great woven bag. Wonder if it is made of palm fronds?
Pretty Girl
I wish her the best
Bought our kids expensive presents, they eventually play with the box.
“What a darling child, and what a great woven bag. Wonder if it is made of palm fronds?”
I think so.
“I’m sure that an academic or activist can explain how it’s racist for you to enjoy this video.
You white folk are “othering” and “objectifying” this colored girl, “colonizing” her with your white paternalist gaze, imposing your narrative onto her truth.”
I am more ashamed of my “racism” and “sexism” to which this sweet young Indonesian girl has been subjected and which might finally polish her off after she has survived living in poverty in the third World.
“What a sweet little girl.
At least it seems she’s safe from the woke BS we have to deal with.”
A very good point.
She is rich in smiles.
Westerners of all ages who have to see their culture twisted by so much crap do not have that part of life in the way she does.
