This is the key contrarians dismuiss or ignore:

Yes. If Ukriane loses Putin will eye Ukriane’s closest NATO neighbors next, under the same rational it attacks Ukraine now - NATO has no “right” to be right on Russia’s border. But the fact is, under different rulers in Russia NATO’s easternmost members would not have felt inclined to join NATO in the first place.
Zelensky is only telling it as it is, should Putin prevail over Ukriane.

In all the many posts I’ve read so far, no one is considering the possibility that, if we joined the Ukes in their fight, we would see millions of Chinese troops scattered among Russian troops. What will we do then?

There are at least two problems with your viewpoint:
First, all the arguments Vlad the Invader used to justify invading Ukraine also apply to several other former Soviet Empire countries, some of which are now NATO members.
Second, if Russia absorbs Ukraine, it will increase Russia's population and economy by roughly one third.
So Vlad the Invader's next target will face a vastly more powerful enemy, one which has also learned lessons from Ukraine.
And there's something else -- each time we lose, it makes the next loss that much easier and victory that much harder to achieve.
That's the story of Hitler in 1936 - in the Rhineland he would have been relatively easy to stop.
But after 1938 Austria and Czechoslovakia, when Hitler invaded Poland in 1939, it took a world war and many Allies to destroy him.
Think of it as the police's broken Windows policy for international relations.

Your post is kinda confusing to me...
Are you saying if we send our children over there to die that the Chinese will do the same?
Or, are you saying that the Chinese are going to send their children over there to die, so we should do the same?
Because I say, let that entire part of the world self destruct, and we can just stay home.
The world as we've known it since 1945 exists because of American power -- economic, military, political and cultural.
Remove American power from the world order and it will quickly change into something much less friendly to us.
Beginning with this -- many of 195 mostly small but independent countries will be invaded and absorbed into their more powerful neighbors, until the map looks more like the empires of January 1914.
Empires, you may remember from history, are entirely self-justifying -- they don't need reasons or "moral authority" to invade their neighbors, because they exist to grow and expand.
Empires are deterred by strength, they are provoked by weakness, such as Hitler saw in the Rhineland, Austria, Czechoslovakia and Poland, and Vlad the Invader sees in Chechnya, in Georgia and now in Ukraine.
Destroying old empires was the single greatest accomplishment of the First World War.
Our inaction, allowing new ones to grow, would be the great disgrace of our time.
