Well, there it is – NATO General Secretary Says Ukraine Will Definitely Become a NATO Member Once Conflict with Russia Concludes
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | February 28, 2023 | Sundance

After the western alliance previously swore that NATO would not put any member NATO state on the doorstep of Russia, a promise that was weak and viewed by many as false – ultimately influencing the decision by Russia, NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg said today that Ukraine will be joining NATO as soon as the conflict is concluded.

Now, given that statement, why would Russia even fathom entering any type of peaceful resolution to the conflict. In essence, Stoltenberg has just turned the conflict in Ukraine into a zero-sum issue for Russia. The only way Russia can keep NATO away from its border is to win violently against Ukraine.

They have flushed the one chip that they could negotiate with, guaranteeing to force Putin to take on NATO directly.

Let’s make them an honorary member now so we can launch nukes against Russia. I’m sure a lot of Zelinskyites on Free Republic would be happy about that.

hmm, there's four NATO countries that already border Russia (the 3 Baltic State + Poland), and have for years, with a fifth (Finland) joining NATO soon

Russia never made a big deal about these before ... so this idea of being the catalyst for WWIII is just more bogus fear-mongering

Thank you Captain Obvious.

Now that Russia has accomplished turning Ukraine into one of the most militarized and powerful countries in Europe, Ukraine is a shoo in.

Russia is screwed. If they withdraw and end the war now, They’ll be paying reparations for decades or the sanctions will continue.

And if they don’t withdraw they are facing a bloody defeat, and will end the war even weaker and totally defeated. Russia will probably be facing a break up situation and a demand that they give up their nuclear weapons in order to relax the sanctions.

Hunter Biden was instrumental in funding and assisting a company responsible for Ukraine biolabs. The Metabiota company, headed by a Ghislaine Maxwell partner named Alan Wolfe, was in charge of setting up biolabs in Ukraine. The biolabs have sparked concern that dangerous materials could be used to fuel bioterrorism in Ukraine and around the world.

You came right out of the gate pretty damn hot. Did you catch your beans and franks in your zipper or are you just a straight-up dick?

The Ukraine is nothing but a sock puppet, it is no longer a country. The method that NATO and Biden are running this war will hit a wall soon as they will run out of Ukrainians.

“This is not going to end well for anyone.”

______

No, it is not. Not for anyone involved.

Can you imagine South American country leaders stating, “Beginning in 2024, we will allow Russia and their political partners to establish a military presence on the southern border of the U.S., including the possibility of nuclear weapons?” Having Ukraine join NATO is about the equivalent.

The U.S. and NATO seem to be doing everything possible to escalate this war. The U.S. should be the “elder statesman” encouraging some type of settlement between Ukraine and Russia that both parties can live with. Instead, the U.S. and NATO seem to be wanting to agitate the situation, all while demanding the U.S. taxpayers send more money to the region. Money and weapons are being sent that we seem to have no interest in tracking nor making sure are actually used for the purposes given. There is absolutely zero accounting for our support dollars.

This entire endeavor is turning into a major cluster-f&&k!

From the article: Do you really believe the United States would be okay with Russia establishing forward military bases in Mexico or Canada? Why should Russia permit U.S. and NATO military bases on its borders?

That is something I have repeatedly asked the neocon, Russian-hating numbskulls here.
