The Federal Government has announced a plan to begin shooting feral cattle from helicopters in order to protect the environment.
...
Local ranchers, however, have criticized the plan as cruel and have warned about the unintended consequences ...
They say it sets a dangerous precedent, as more and more ranching plots are left vacant across the West and fences become untended. They claim that this could result in privately owned cattle wandering off and getting caught up in the mix.
...
ranchers are also worried that the wolves who eat the carcasses of the dead animals will become used to eating cattle and will come closer to ranches in order to find more to eat.
...
wolves may be encouraged to kill privately-owned cattle.
But it is not only in New Mexico that initiatives such as these risk doing real-world harm to ordinary people. In Europe, for instance, many farmers want laws protecting wolves to be relaxed after complaining that wolves are coming to their farms and killing their livestock.
...
The left has for years lobbied for a “green new deal” in order to combat climate change, but critics have argued that this will lead to an energy shortage and the widespread failure of the electrical system.
Meanwhile, there is also a push among the leftist for electric vehicles as a replacement for gas-powered ones — despite the fact that EVs are expensive and have shown themselves to be inefficient and unreliable.
....
But the left is so ideologically driven, it would rather see people’s livelihoods ruined than compromise on its agenda.

What harm are the cows causing? Protect the environmen from what? Each one is worth good money. Bloodthirsty government ghouls.
Warmongering globalists provide the shiny objects to distract people from domestic issues.
“..the chopper will have to be fairly low to do this, we’ll within rifle range i imagine....”
Yep, but will the cows shoot back at the feral choppers? /s
A lot of the things that are being done have the net effect of decreasing the food supply.
Ummmmm...no. According to the article...
“The feral cattle in the Gila Wilderness have been aggressive towards wilderness visitors, graze year-round, and trample stream banks and springs, causing erosion and sedimentation,” forest supervisor Camille Howes said.
Not quite farts, but close.
And as usual the current .gov is going to take the most ignorant actions they could while ignoring potentially horrendous consequences.
Wolf Kills Man is never a good headline.
It's target practice time, boys. /dark humor
That was my first thought.
How about feds shooting feral hogs or pythons.
Why not allow a round up? The Feds will not be able to tell feral from owner cattle. This is one of the worst ideas evah! They won’t shoot horses so…
Or bison, right?
They are probably practicing to do this to us.
Don’t you know you can Never tell the senior government officials what second and third level effects of their plans can cause. They will never believe their fairy dust and unicorn poop ideas and decisions can fail due to bad planing, inept and circular thinking, and inadequate resources.
“ Everyone gets their food from cans at stores now. Who needs working ranchers?”
****************************************************************
Look, it took many generations of careful selective breeding and genetic manipulation to get those cans to produce meat. Yes, who needs cattle anymore. ;-)
Federal Government Announces Agents Will Be Shooting Cattle from Helicopters.
But not the cost of it par.
Ranchers would pick them up for free.
D.C. logic at it’s finest.
Gross overreach based on sh1t science.
Would be a real shame if these brave government agents caught a case of lead poisoning. Instead of skeet shooting, maybe call it helo-fedding. Green laser would be non-lethal, but not as fun.
You beat me to it. It's a learned skill and you don't want your first time hunting MAGA-hat-wearing white supremacists to be a disappointment.
This is totally insane when hunters could go out and take down these cattle and turn them into food. The only explanation is that this is to further destroy the food supply in America.
