Life note.. Going to Ft.Benning from Ft. Dix back in the .early 70’s on a greyhound bus, crossing into North Carolina and seeing a huge billboard of a KKK Knight on a horse with the caption “Welcome to North Carolina, Home of the Ku Klux Klan.” All the black guys on the bus were absolutely quiet after hours of hearing them jive talking , I was stunned.
