What does it take, Garland?

There is a great scene at the end of the movie "The Hunt for Red October" in which there is a conversation between National Security Director Jeffrey Pelt and Soviet Ambassador Andrei Lysenko.

Ambassador Andrei Lysenko: There is another matter... one I'm reluctant to...

Dr. Jeffrey Pelt: Please.

Ambassador Andrei Lysenko: One of our submarines, an Alfa, was last reported in the area of the Grand Banks. We have not heard from her for some time.

Dr. Jeffrey Pelt: Andrei... you've lost another submarine?

Here's the video

With the disclosure of yet another set of stolen documents this immediately popped into my head.

A third set of classified documents has been located at Joe Biden's Wilmington home. the first set was found in a former Biden office at his "think tank" in DC before the midterm elections and only recently revealed. One page was found in Biden's garage (which was locked when it wasn't unlocked) and now this.

At first Biden claimed he was "surprised" by the November.

Biden's personal lawyer Richard Sauber called it "inadvertent mishandling" as in "no harm, no foul."

But it's not that simple. If you were to steal the Mona Lisa it would still be a crime if 6 years later it was found in your garage and you then immediately gave it back even if you claimed "inadvertent mishandling." Indeed, Andy McCarthy spelled it out

That’s not a defense to a charge of mishandling classified information. It is tantamount to an admission of guilt. For conviction, federal law requires prosecutors to establish that the defendant was grossly negligent. There is no need to prove that an accused was trying to harm the United States; just that he was trusted with classified information and carelessly flouted the standards for safeguarding it.
Biden had no authority to remove these documents. He had no authority to declassify them, and he had no authority to retain them, let alone recklessly. And there is no question his handling of them was reckless.

These documents were moved around more than once. Biden's lawyers have been engaged in "rolling disclosures", i.e., the story keeps changing and it has changed once again. It's another "rolling disclosure." This time they were clearly marked "TOP SECRET." There is nothing inadvertent about this.

This demands a thorough investigation as questions remain.

Why didn't the National Archives notice these documents were missing? Or did they?

Who moved them?

Who had access to them? (We already know that Hunter did)

Given the rolling disclosures why hasn't an FBI raided all of Biden's properties to conduct a thorough search?

Because Biden is a democrap who knows (or used to, given his dementia) where the bodies in DC are buried.

Nothing will happen to him, period.

> and he had no authority to retain them,

His “out card” on this is Obama. If Obama says he OK’d it to Joe, then he’s free and clear. However, that messes up any prosecution of Trump. So the name of the game now is to have Garland stall anything until a decision is made.

House pubs can only press hard to see if they can force a mistake. IMHO, Biden is being forced out.

It was St. Jugears the Stutterer that tried to get Garland on the court, but VP Gropey was pushing it.

Andy McCarthy...
James Comey, July 2016...
Clinton should have known better than to send classified information, Comey affirmed, adding, "I think she was extremely careless. I think she was negligent. That I could establish. What we can't establish is that she acted with the necessary criminal intent."

While teams red and blue of the Uniparty bicker over who broke what rule - this all cements in place the role of the DOJ/Intelligence community as a 4th branch of government.

Presidents having classified documents was never ‘a thing’ until the media and the dark state once again demonstrated their ability to manufacturer a controversy in order to attack Trump. Previous presidents (and apparently vice presidents) given a lot of leeway to keep items for their posterity. I’ve heard Obama took a LOT of stuff from the WhiteHouse.

Now that Biden is snared in the product of their own creation, they want to try to put the cat back in the bag.

Mishandling documents, purposefully or not, creates the security risk.

They should be forced to “recreate” a log of all visitors and who they were. It can be done and they should be forced under law.

We know what it takes.

Garland will act when Joe Biden becomes a conservative.

Everything else will be to cover him or window dressing.

Vice Presidents don’t get to have classified documents.

We have Algier Hiss to thank for that

“ Hunter was paying 50K a month to the Big Guy for access.”

Not quite, Hunter was laundering 50K a month from the CCP.

Given the rolling disclosures why hasn't an FBI raided all of Biden's properties to conduct a thorough search?

If there is a smoking gun anywhere in this saga, so far, this is it, proving this is just a dog and pony show.

We were all told that Trump’s lawyers couldn’t be trusted to look for classified documents, much less handle them, to justify the raid of his home. But Biden’s lawyers are now presented as the equivalent of law enforcement, and his think tank is somehow off limits for actual law enforcement, much less any of his homes.

Biden, as President, can’t even be indicted, much less prosecuted, as President, only impeached. But Republicans can’t impeach him over this, without drawing attention to the similar charge against Trump.

My guess is this whole attempt to push Biden’s fate to the forefront is designed to steal our focus and energy from going after the deep state, who remains in power now matter who the President is. Designed to show the DOJ is investigating Biden same extent they are investigating Trump.

Don’t fall for it. Biden is done, no matter what happens with this. So this story is only important with regard to who is manipulating it at the DOJ, to paint them in the most favorable light, not what supposed crime Biden may or may not have done.
