Ukraine is burning through ammunition for 155mm howitzers quickly and it is leaving the United States in a bind, according to a new report by think tank CSIS.
It could take up to five years for the industrial base to produce enough rounds to replenish American stocks.
It is not just cannon shells. Javelin and Stinger missiles could take six to eight years to normalize for the U.S. inventory.

The ability to produce and supply millions of artillery rounds and more millions of bombs is the deciding factor.

Pretty OBVIOUS what happened here. The Leftist Dweebs who are running the country figured that they could send most of our ground weapons to Ukraine and then simply backfill them by making a phone call or two to Big Defense.
What they found out is that they were right...except that their answers also included timelines of 5 to 10 years to fully replace.

The Leftists (that the Neocon Supporters seem to admire) literally think that as long as there isn’t gas lines when they fill up their limos, there’s no need for the SPR or any other type of strategic planning. For example, when Newt said that we need to stock large transformers to recover from an EMP event (be it a natural event or attack), the Leftists (that the Neocon Supporters seem to admire) treated him like Art Bell.
