New York City kept letting this violent serial criminal out again and again and again, until he finally murdered a 61-year-old woman by repeatedly hitting her on the head with a rock. For this murder, he was only sentenced to 20 years. With parole, he could be out a lot sooner. I wonder how long it will be until he gets out and murders someone else. Every city gets exactly as much crime as it’s willing to tolerate.
Oops! Wordpress, not Twitter. My fault!
He widower went back to China because of this.
Writer doesn’t know that murder cases are tried in State Court, not Municipal.
White supremacist, right? I don't even have to look.
“While Perez was never charged with a hate crime, this incident came at a time when four Asian Americans were killed in New York City in a two-month span.”
Mr. Perez is described as “a Brooklyn man” in the only story I could find that characterized his background in any way.
You get what you vote for
Not sure that idea makes sense to the New Yorkers of today.
I believe the policy of prosecutors in NYC is no sentences longer than 20 years unless the crime involves murder of first responders, judges or a few other priviledged classes. There are no life sentences for murder of the little people.
He’ll be out when the Democrats need a political candidate.
