Matt Taibbi, who authored the first release of the infamous “Twitter Files,” is back for round two. Or at least he’s back to provide a supplement to round one while round two is still being worked on.
According to Taibbi, James Baker, who was general counsel for Twitter and a former top-level FBI official, inserted himself into the disclosure in an attempt to “vet” the files that were ultimately released. Elon Musk was not notified of Baker playing middle-man.
As RedState reported, Baker was fired on Tuesday, and with Taibbi’s latest thread, we now know why. I normally try to not flood my articles with long strings of multiple tweets in a row, but it’s important to get all the information out there.
From his Twitter:
On Friday, the first installment of the Twitter files was published here. We expected to publish more over the weekend. Many wondered why there was a delay.
We can now tell you part of the reason why. On Tuesday, Twitter Deputy General Counsel (and former FBI General Counsel) Jim Baker was fired. Among the reasons? Vetting the first batch of “Twitter Files” – without knowledge of new management.
The process for producing the “Twitter Files” involved delivery to two journalists (Bari Weiss and me) via a lawyer close to new management. However, after the initial batch, things became complicated.
Over the weekend, while we both dealt with obstacles to new searches, it was @BariWeiss who discovered that the person in charge of releasing the files was someone named Jim. When she called to ask “Jim’s” last name, the answer came back: “Jim Baker.”
“My jaw hit the floor,” says Weiss
The first batch of files both reporters received was marked, “Spectra Baker Emails.”
Baker is a controversial figure. He has been something of a Zelig of FBI controversies dating back to 2016, from the Steele Dossier to the Alfa-Server mess. He resigned in 2018 after an investigation into leaks to the press.
The news that Baker was reviewing the “Twitter files” surprised everyone involved, to say the least. New Twitter chief Elon Musk acted quickly to “exit” Baker Tuesday.
Reporters resumed searches through Twitter Files material – a lot of it – today. The next installment of “The Twitter Files” will appear @bariweiss
. Stay tuned.
FBI needs an enema.
...or a funeral.
I wonder if he deleted files
Deep state cockroaches everywhere.
Elon Musk fired all the janitors including one named Baker.
We may never know for sure.
It depends on how much computer savvy he has and how their security systems work........................
I read somewhere there were other CURRENT FBI agents working at Twitter. It appears Twitter had actually been taken over by the feds and they were in control of it.
There are probably software “back doors” into the Twitter operating system through which multiple federal agencies can access control and spying. I would not be surprised to find the Chinese government has software access to Twitter’s operating system.
I wonder if he deleted files

There would be backups in any case.

^^^^^^^^^THIS!
So when is the real 2nd release?
The deep state is in control of most mass and social media. I even wonder at how much "steering" is occurring on FR as well. One area where the truth still occasionally leaks out is talk radio.
You will see renewed and coordinated attacks on talk radio in the coming months.
both
You got that right !!

Both Trump and Musk are too stupid to check pedigrees of the top staff that work for them. Amazing and sad.
“I wonder if he deleted files”
That was being kicked around by the panel on Mornings With Maria this morning. Seems there’s a good chance Baker had plenty of opportunity and motive to scrub data and files.
That might depend on (1) how IT-savvy he is so he would be able to do it himself, and/or (2) how evil his tech-savvy subordinates were to follow any orders from him.
Unbelievable, they must be pretty worried about what’s coming out.
I agree with you on the steering. Certain threads...depending on context if Masonry or “elites” are mentioned..they will sometimes come out of the woodwork to attack or cast aspersions on one who is being critical of them. At least one 33.3rd “higher up” stayed around for a bit to try and convince me that Masonry doesn mostly good and doesn’t have the clout many folks think they do but he admitted that there are schisms and radical lodges that are doing their own thing in politics.
My view was not that I was worried about their “secrecy” but rather I viewed USA Masonry as a whole as being feckless and useless, not being something useful that caould save the country from going over a cliff. Of course there are elements of Masonry and Illuminati sorts that are very destructive but as a whole they are a sorry bunch who have all this “networking” power but it serves no useful ends, nor will they act against those more destructive elements who prevail upon our leaders to serve evil ends. Probably a lot of RINO’s in their ranks. To the blazes with them!
We should ask “which files did he exclude”?
