Me too
I love the middle era Fleetwood Mac
You can just count on it here
The scolds
Such lovely folks
She’s older than Keith Richards.
I had front row orchestra seats literally could reach out and touch them if they came to the front of the stage. This was July 26, 1978 I believe and I believe Joe Walsh warmed them up but I still cannot find anything on the internet showing that. He was trashed, barely could stand up. I believe this was the period that he was dating Stevie Nicks.
This concert was at https://spac.org/ and they had over 30,000
“Every time I hear Fleetwood Mac I am reminded of the DNC/Clinton convention in 1992.”
You and me both! I used to like that song, pre-Clinton.
She’s older than Keith Richards.
That’s my point; I don’t think she was the least troubled of the group. If anyone was, it would be her ex.
She made her husband sing songs about abusing her.
So, neither are innocent.
Is she the one who sang “You make loving fun?”
Yes, and the song title is not sung until right at the end.
Same thing with Buckingham on “Second Hand News”.
I think the fog of time makes it difficult to think about how long they’ve been around.
Since 1967, almost 56 years ago.
Her song “Everywhere” was my favorite of the group.
That’s my point; I don’t think she was the least troubled of the group. I didn’t know about the abuse before you mentioned it. I guess they were all messed up.
RIP.
Horrible news!
Rest in Peace Christine, Thanks for the memories!.................
Yes, hated that song from then on....
Christine Anne McVie (née Perfect; 12 July 1943 — 30 November 2022) was an English musician, and the vocalist and keyboardist of Fleetwood Mac, which she joined in 1970. She also released three solo albums. Her direct but poignant lyrics focused on love and relationships.
“They were so totally different, that I don’t think a comparison can be made. The hard throatiness of Nicks and the sweet softness of McVie are two entirely different styles.”
I agree!
Trying to compare Christine to Stevie is an apples and oranges thing.
I watched a Stevie Nicks interview and she said Mac originally only wanted Lindsey Buckingham for his guitar playing. John and Mick were ready to sign Lindsey before their meeting was up but Lindsey told them they would have to take Stevie too. That required another meeting with Christine, she had the final say.
Fortunately Chris said yes and beautiful music was made.
I enjoyed listening to both of them.
True, both were important to the band's success formula. I saw them live some years ago, during a period when Christine wasn't participating. Still a good show, but her absence was so obvious.
