The House Republican leadership has rejected 6 out of the 8 House Freedom Caucus rules changes that have been considered so far, Just the News has learned.

The amendments that failed included a requirement that spending bills must pass before the fiscal year officially begins on Oct. 1. If not, other legislation would not be able to be considered on the floor. An amendment that would ensure all members of the Republican Conference are able to participate in conference meetings was rejected, and a rule change to allow one member, with the support of 25 others, to request having one Republican staffer admitted to conference meetings also failed.

The outstanding amendments still up for consideration include the reimplementation of the Holman Rule, which would strip the salaries of federal employees who are not cooperating with existing law.

Why did you link to The Liberty Daily home page when they linked to the actual article on Just The News?

Why not link directly to the actual article that you headlined?

I'd like to see a rule that says no more omnibus spending bills, go back to department-specific budget bills.

They don't need a rule to do this, as nothing is stopping them from passing clean separate department budgets.

Then let the Senate deal with it. That will take away a lot of Schumer's power, and indirectly, McConnell's, too. They won't have a massive spending bill to negotiate their hidden pork. They will have to pass what the House sends them, and then defend why they refuse to approve spending for each department.

This is what we used to call "regular order."

One of the terms that makes me cringe is “Grand Bargain.” That means anything goes. Dig in boys, meat’s on the table tonight.

If we go back to department-specific budget bills, we would no longer have 2,000 page spending bills that "we have to pass to find out what's in it."

I’m all in on department specific budgets. Fat chance the fat ass GOP leaders will ever do it. They give away a huge amount of power by being so lazy.

Also, if I were in charge, here is how I would approach budgeting. I would put out a memo to all departments. I would instruct them to list in order of priority all their funding needs. Departments not complying could expect budget cuts in areas they might not want otherwise.

It takes money...a lot of money to do a third party. Then you have to fight in probably every state to get the party recognized and on the ballot. Again...more money. The current situation is setup to make it difficult to start another political party and then harder to get it recognized on a nation wide level. Given today’s environment I’d bet you would be looking at a billion dollars to setup a third party that would be competitive. And honestly I don’t think Trump would do it.

It is a massive undertaking to say the least.

Not saying it isn’t.

Just observing that Trump is the only guy who could possibly pull it off.

Third party wouldn’t matter if we don’t stop the election theft.

Now that I think about it, anything else is a distraction.

Doesn’t matter how many votes you get if the other guys get to count as many ballots of unknown provenance as they can manufacture.

Look in the dictionary under GOP leadership and you see
pictures of skunks and weasels.

Well, maybe so but their voters chose them. So that must
mean the voters are no better just electing their kind...

"I keep saying that the GOP is NOT the answer. We need to face the facts and turn away from those Assistant Democrats and form a new American First Party."

You're absolutely right. The GOP is unredeemable. It will never be reformed, because people will still vote for Republican a-holes, simply to keep the seat. That doesn't solve any problems. It only perpetuates them.

"So that must mean the voters are no better just electing their kind..."

In some cases that is true.

Yawn...

What did anybody with half a brain expect?
The normal GOP circle jerk has begun...

GOP history of the past 60 years (except most issues related to the SCOTUS) is one of ineptness & deceit...

At least, during such periods, the communists only get 50% of their nefarious schemes into law or regulation...

Not enough conservatives to overwhelm the unscathed RINOs resulting in the RATs and RINOs still controlling the House.

Shouldn’t these leadership decisions be made after the new members are seated and not by the lame-ducks?

Fully agree! I’ve favored that for many years, but you expressed it better than I probably could have.

No more omnibus bills! Stop the CRs, too.
