A Twitter engineering manager reportedly vomited into a trash can after being told to fire hundreds of people by one of Elon Musk’s advisers.
The revelation came in a lengthy article from the New York Times on Musk’s first weeks as the owner of Twitter.
"The fallout has often been excruciating, according to 36 current and former Twitter employees and people close to the company, as well as internal documents and workplace chat logs,” the Times report says. “Some top executives were summarily fired by email. One engineering manager, upon being told to cut hundreds of workers, vomited into a trash can. Others slept in the office as they worked grueling schedules to meet Mr. Musk’s orders.”
The article later reiterates, “one engineering manager was approached by Mr. Musk’s advisers — or ‘goons,’ as Twitter employees called them — with a list of hundreds of people he had to let go. He vomited into a trash can near his feet.”

man pukes, when told to do his job... feh
Elon should have told him they were all found to be secretly pro-American and he would have fired them with gusto.
That shouldn’t be amusing, but it is.
That’s what you call a ‘delicate soul’.
😂🤣
Yeah I can understand.
Twitter is one place other than Facebook where I am less sympathetic.
“Hope he had someone to hold his hair.”
Not a problem. I’m sure it was in a bun.
I agree with you here. It’s a stressful task.
Looks like we’re in the minority.
He should have puked when he hired them.
‘They’re paying for it, you eat it.’
Good. Don’t care.
That’s news?
You don’t have to be a “beta male” to experience serious dread and stress at the prospect of having to look hundreds of people in the eye and tell them they’re fired.
I don’t care if censorship nazis are in turmoil getting rid of other censorship nazis.
Let me guess. It was a piss drinking, cow worshipping, hostile invader from Shitholeistan who posts on FR…
I agree that there is a lot of stress anguish when having to fire folks. A close family to mine, the dad was the hatchet man for a international company. It was the role he did not want but no one would step up so he became the defacto bad guy. He was overweight, diabetes, heart attacks, and other stress issues during the decades he was that HR department. The stress eased after he moved to a new HR job at a different organization but the long term damage was done. I do feel for the emotional weight put on the manager but HR should be helping with his decision process and racking and stacking the positions. As the previous twitter administration seemed to be so lax in management practices, I will assume they had no real policy for these actions.
Sociopaths don’t care. Psychopaths enjoy it.
I don’t feel sorry for socio or psycho paths. I am just saying that for a decent man it is miserable to mass firings.
It always feels better after you throw up.
The Engineering Manager could gleefully help destroy free speech, but can’t handle firing his comrades. And he’s still employed?
