A former data science manager at Twitter is planning to sue Elon Musk for firing her while six months pregnant. As Musk began slashing jobs last week, Shennan Lu was one of many workers who were laid off. She subsequently took to Twitter to blast the Elon Musk-led company’s handling of the situation.
Probably AI…lol
Two words: California Judge and Jury #BidenSpeak
Because she’s so special.
Will she kill her baby if she does?
Did you know that your medical condition may make it impossible to lay you off?
I have Type II Diabetes. I may not be laid off OR fired.
Why? Did he knock her up?
She better hope she doesn’t need a caesarean birth that will be very expensive. I wish her all the best.
Pregnant people can be laid off. I’ve done it a couple of times.
My sister came to work from a Drs appointment where she was told she had a bad type of breast cancer. As she walked into the office, she was informed she was being laid off.
In both type of cases, there were severance packages and continued health insurance coverage.
Companies are not barbarians. But they are still companies.
And by the way...there are exceptions to that rule and I'm betting it includes references to a change of ownership, maybe bankruptcy...and then there are the workers contracts.
She was hoping for the 20 week paid maternity leave.
Dont like the severance pay deal, then show up in a vacant conference room every day for 60 days, do nothing, no access to any computer systems and then you are gone.. no more pay at all
You’re not owed anything other than whatever severance state law requires honey.
I wonder if she was one of those who were scamming users for 13-15k a pop.
Somewhere there are 12 moronic idiots who can’t wait to award her one billion dollars for her pain, suffering and toe fungus.
maybe sucks...maybe not...we don’t know the rules that go with pregnancy at twitter....
Being pregnant isn’t a protected class. She’ll lose that lawsuit all day long, every day.
What I wouldn't pay to see Musk reply: "You go now, you been here four hour."
My employer laid off a bunch of people in 2013. In my department, a 70 and 62 year old guy got laid off. that could be fishy, but no issues because a bunch of 30 and 40 somethings got laid off too, as well as one in his 20s.
It’s open enrollment time for Obamacare.
