A pollster who correctly predicted Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016 is saying that Americans are prepping to unleash a “red tsunami” in Tuesday’s midterm elections.
Patrick Basham, the polling director at the Democracy Institute, predicted that Republicans will win control of the House and Senate.
The Democracy Institute’s poll of 1,500 “likely voters” predicts the GOP will gain a minimum of 33 to 38 seats in the House, with a “probable gain” of 39 to 51 seats.
At the lowest point, this outcome would give Republicans 245 seats with a majority of 55. At the top end, the GOP could have 265 seats with a majority of 95.
Democrats currently hold a majority with 220 to 212 seats and three vacancies.
The poll does not bode well for Democrats in the Senate either. Democrats have put up a veneer of optimism, hoping to maintain the current 50/50 status quo, giving Kamala Harris the tie-breaking vote.
The Democracy Institute poll suggests that likely voters favor Republicans by 49% to 46%.
This outcome would give Republicans up to 54 seats in the Senate, with Democrats dropping to 46.
In 2016, Basham’s Democracy Institute had said: “The new poll finds Trump establishing a clear lead over Clinton, 50 percent to 45 percent, among decided voters. The outcome nevertheless remains in doubt, as an unusually large number of undecided voters (10 percent) could yet swing the election Clinton’s way, although their eventual, disproportionate support for Trump is the more probable development.”
I’d love to see our side top that “81 million” chumps who voted for Jo Jo.

I’ll guarantee that Biden never got 81 million votes.
And then your state can have its first governor who could plant her face in some dough and make gorilla cookies.
Something that has been overlooked regarding the 2016 election. The Democrats smugly thought Donald Trump's candidacy was a joke, and he couldn't possibly win. They were convinced that Hillary would coast to an easy victory. If they had any idea that Trump would make it a close election, let alone win, their voting fraud machine would have been working overtime.
In my opinion, there are two big problems even before one gets to trying to over-ride a veto which are tied together.
Unless one gets to 64 with the 14 additions not including more than 2 of people like the worderful Rino of Oz and the present incumbent of Alaska, not only is Mitch not getting turfed, but even if he were replaced with, say, a new Senator for Arizona, the Rino Caucus would prevent much from getting passed. Assuming a few Rinos among additional seats, The pubs would need to be in the low 80’s to over-ride a veto on a good piece of legislation.
Don’t forget, we don’t just need a majority in the Senate, we need a Romney/Murkowski/Collins proof majority.
“Yes, do not count your chickens until they cross the road...............”
I wouldn’t even count them then. The Democrats could arrange to run them over.
It will be fun in a perverse way to hear Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) suddenly change their tune and go on and on about how the election system is corrupt, the other side cheated, it is your patriotic duty to question election results, etc.
Omg, lol
Could very well be. You could easily convince me this is the case.
Mastriano is down double-digits.
yep! for TWENTY years liberals questioned voting machines!
they only became 100% reliable when Trump lost!
WVA, Montana, PA, NH, and VA
Will it matter? Trump had a majority house and senate and they acquiesced and gave in at every turn. Until the GOP learns how, after winning, to drive major reform and change and damn the torpedoes, they will continue to piss away any “majority” they win.
I hope every republican candidate the left financed in hopes they’d be easier to beat... wins.
I think that is BS. Is still say he rides the wave. I could be wrong, but I am holding out hope.
Well, we did have a red tsunami in 2020, so we will see.
Kari Lake stated that we have to win by a mile to win by an inch.
I pray you are right.
That’s wise, because chicken coop stuffing efforts will be underway.
