The campaign to pull corporate advertising from Twitter, following its purchase by SpaceX founder Elon Musk, is being led by a network of left wing dark money activists with ties to prominent Democrat politicians and mega donors.
An advocacy group formed in 2020 called Accountable Tech is organizing the pressure campaign, which has thus far succeeded in having the likes of Pfizer, Audi, General Mills, and other corporations pull their advertising expenditures from the platform.

So now we see Twitter for what it actually was:
A tool of the left to control the political debate, funded by those dedicated to the Left.
These have always worked before because a counter boycott could never be implemented. Part of the payoff to the leftist boycotters was control of all media by their leftists allies who throttled any attempt to organize the counter boycott. The rules have changed in this one instance. The richest man on the planet with by far the loudest voice on the planet is the wrong guy to be playing these games with. Hopefully this thoroughly ticks Musk off and pushes him even closer to allowing free speech on Twitter.

gee..we don’ need no steenkin Pfizer, Audi, General Mills....
no shots
no electric cars
no stupid cereal...
My understanding was these groups gave the appearance of having more supporters than they actually did.
Simply adopt a subscription model. The cost of a subscription doesn’t have to be much. For example, Locals is $5/month.
Firstly, that immunizes Musk against any pressure campaign from advertizers.
Secondly, even a small fee like that defeats the bots.
Sounds like a plan to me!
We can always buy post cereal, unless they’ve gone woke.
“succeeded in having the likes of Pfizer, Audi, General Mills, and other corporations pull their advertising expenditures from the platform.”
Why are these big, powerful corporations caving? Don’t they know the people demanding they pull their advertising represent almost no one and have no real clout in the marketplace?
Musk should thank them for cleaning the scum out of twitter for him.
Boycotts against conservatives and their sponsors are organized by Angelo Carusone. Carusone runs Media Matters for America which is funded by George Soros.
THAT is a great question!
Do you suppose they think they will sell more product by playing these games?
If so, fine. If not, shareholders should hold them accountable.
Didn’t Gilette take a hit “being woke?”
You're a genius! You don't even own or run a website and you know everything!
All you have to do is get people to hand over their credit card information and be billed every month and good luck ever getting it canceled! Where do I sign up?
But when people like Alex Jones fund their millions of dollars of bandwidth every month by selling supplements you ridicule them for being con-men money-grubbers, even though dinosaur "news" gets 90% of their advertising revenue from Pfizer. Taking money from Pfizer is respectable. Selling products to willing purchasers/supporters is not.
That’s how locals works. You pay $5 per month. The site has steadily grown and grown.
and I haven’t said anything about Alex Jones and how he runs infowars.
