I agree McCarthy is worthless.

It’s true, their votes won’t be enough to make a difference, but this could weaken him significantly.

If candidates make voting against McConnell a campaign issue - and win on that issue - that sends a loud message about public sentiment, and could pressure other representatives to withdraw their support.

McConnell and other party leaders rely on a perception of power - power begets power. Lower ranking politicians stay in line out of fear of what McConnell can do to them, and favors and committee posts he can withhold.

If there is a perception that he is losing his grip - it can quickly become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Dittoes

“My guess is that Jim Jordan doesn’t want the job as Speaker, but I think he would be a lot better than McCarthy.”

Because Jordan doesn’t want the job, he would do it well, not holding his focus on holding power of the gavel.

Rand Paul for majority leader in 2023. The irony would be sweet.

He would be excellent.

“How about Trump for speaker? Third in line...”

I’d be okay with that. There is no rule that the Speaker has to be a member of the House.

Y’all gotta try harder to find somebody to beat him, though I realize he has money and power behind him. I actually hope he just retires. Maybe if he doesn’t win the top dog role anymore, he’ll decide it’s time to move on. A girl can dream, can’t she?

There will always be Romney and collins to make it a zero sum game..

Not much of a working opinion there.

I think you are very naive..

Remember the coup against Pelosi the squad was trying to pull not that long ago? How did that work out?

A few senators not voti mg for Mitch to be senate majority leader is not a threat to his power…

80-90% are going to vote for him to continue to be leader. All he needs is 50% +1 in a 2 person race.

Mitch wants establishment folks in these seats sure, but if they win and don’t vote for him to be speaker it’s not any threat to his power.

We’ll see. Candidates pledging to vote against him - and winning based on that pledge - that doesn’t bode well for him.

We’re better off praying for God to help him retire! All these traitors to America will have to face God come judgement day, and like James 5 says “the prayers of a righteous man Agilent much”
