I'm awed by this backwards argument that winter favors the Russians, as if the Ukrainians are unfamiliar with what winter is like in their own country.
Also, winter puts a much heavier logistical burden on an army than does summer, and Ukrainian field forces will have much shorter supply lines than will the Russians.
Obviously, we will have to wait and see. But I think those expecting the Russians to have massive success during the winter are going to be bitterly disappointed.

Yeah, I don't buy it either. Both sides should be fine in the cold weather. If you have adequate winter clothing, fighting as an infantryman is actually easier in cold weather than in hot weather. It's like playing football.
