I'm awed by this backwards argument that winter favors the Russians, as if the Ukrainians are unfamiliar with what winter is like in their own country.
Yeah, I don't buy it either. Both sides should be fine in the cold weather. If you have adequate winter clothing, fighting as an infantryman is actually easier in cold weather than in hot weather. It's like playing football.

It’s not the fighting that’s hard in cold weather. It’s the living part in between. Here of course the Ukrainians are the home team and have an advantage over an Russian expeditionary force.

That’s the thing, the Russian army hasn’t got these for its troops.
Strange but true.
In 1940 they weren’t adequately dressed for the war sith Finland and died in the cold.
