As Nations Around the World Halt Covid Vaccines for Kids, California Gov. Newsom is Mandating Them for All Schoolchildren

California has become the first state in the nation to mandate that all children take mRNA vaccines in order to attend schoos. Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the mandate in a press release in October.

“At a school in San Francisco, Governor Newsom announced plans to add the COVID-19 vaccine to the list of vaccinations required to attend school in-person when the vaccine receives full approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for middle and high school grades, making California the first state in the nation to announce such a measure,” the governor announced. “Following the other first-in-the-nation school masking and staff vaccination measures, Governor Newsom announced the COVID-19 vaccine will be required for in-person school attendance—just like vaccines for measles, mumps, rubella and more.”

“The state already requires that students are vaccinated against viruses that cause measles, mumps, and rubella – there’s no reason why we wouldn’t do the same for COVID-19,” Newsom said. “Today’s measure, just like our first-in-the-nation school masking and staff vaccination requirements, is about protecting our children and school staff, and keeping them in the classroom,” said Governor Newsom. “Vaccines work. It’s why California leads the country in preventing school closures and has the lowest case rates. We encourage other states to follow our lead to keep our kids safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

There are a number of outright lies in this Newsom press release. The first is the implied claim that vaccines stop or even slow the spread. They do not. Second, a major reason that California has lower case rates is because of herd immunity; not solely from vaccinated immunity, but more importantly, from natural immunity. Thus, even if California’s mitigation strategy were completely useless, the state would still have lower case rates due to the virus burning through the population earlier and thus, yielding a higher rate of natural immunity.

Then there is the matter of school closures, which is one of the most insulting lies. As the nonprofit activist group Cal Matters notes, the state’s school closures were devastating to children who already lagged behind much of the country.

“For months, politicians from Newsom downward quarreled over how the schools should function and angry parents formed the core of a movement to recall him from office,” Cal Matters notes. “Newsom survived the recall, but the educations of millions of kids did not, as new data confirm.”

“While the state Department of Education has not released 2022 academic test data that would allow comparisons with pre-pandemic results, individual school districts are doing so and the numbers from the state’s largest school district, Los Angeles Unified, are stunning,” the report added. “About 72% of the district’s students are not meeting state standards in math and 58% are behind in English, essentially wiping out five years of progress that it had recorded prior to the pandemic.”

“The pandemic deeply impacted the performance of our students,” LAUSD Supt. Alberto Carvalho said. “Particularly kids who were at risk, in a fragile condition, prior to the pandemic, as we expected, were the ones who have lost the most ground.”

Newsom’s mandate that schoolchildren get the Covid-19 shots appears even worse when one delves into the official statistics and latest scientific research on the matter.

As of October 7, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Infection reports that 1,304 persons under the age of 18 have died while testing positive for Covid-19. This is 0.0017% of the 73 million Americans in that age group. The CDC states that 95% of Covid-related mortality has serious comorbidities; meaning healthy children are at far less risk of serious infection. When the Omicron variant became dominant, Covid became about as deadly as the seasonal flu. The most common symptom for the currently dominant BA.4 and BA.5 variants is a “sore throat.”

In May, the Food and Drug Administration’s top commissioners urged the nation to accept that Covid-19 was a part of the “new normal” and to treat it in much the same way as the seasonal flu. Flu vaccines are recommended for the elderly and at-risk; they have never been mandated in the United States, despite their widespread introduction in the early 1980s. Nor have masks been a part of any influenza strategy prior to the emergence of Covid-19. And data from the U.K.’s Office for National Statistics show decisively that Covid-19 was never more dangerous for young people and children than the seasonal flu.

But it gets even worse for the last remaining defenders of the Covid-19 jab mandates. The National Institute of Health’s seroprevalence data show that 99% of Americans have been exposed to Covid-19 and have survived with antibodies — and that is of December 2021. And in June, the New England Journal of Medicine published a study proving once-and-for-all that natural immunity is real and more effective than vaccinated immunity alone. Thus, healthy children with natural immunity are at such a miniscule risk of serious Covid-19 infection that it is truly infinitesimal at this point.

Exacerbating the issue children were never at more risk from Covid-19 than the seasonal flu, healthy children were at a small fraction of even that risk, and there is nearly universal natural immunity in this age group, is that there is now plentiful evidence that the mRNA shots cause known side effects; particularly, heart inflammation in young persons.

Thus, Gavin Newsom is way out-of-line mandating the Covid jabs for small children.

Nations around the world have finally recognized this reality and have stopped recommending the mRNA shots for healthy young people. In late September, the Swedish health authority announced in a notice that it was putting a stop to the push.

“The general recommendation for basically healthy children aged 12–17 years to vaccinate against covid-19 ends after 31 October,” the notice said in Swedish. “The reason is the very low risk of serious illness and death from covid-19 in children and young people. In the future, vaccination against Covid-19 is recommended for children in special groups.”

“During the pandemic, few children and young people have become seriously ill from covid-19,” the notice goes on. “Current knowledge and epidemiology show that the virus variants for SARS-CoV-2 cause increasingly mild symptoms for fundamentally healthy children and young people, and that immunity in the group is very high.”

Sweden joined Denmark in announcing that vaccination is no longer recommended for healthy individuals under age 50.

“The Danish Health Authority (DHA) expects that the number of covid-19 infections will increase during autumn and winter,” the DHA announced. “Therefore, we recommend vaccination of people aged 50 years and over as well as selected risk groups.”

“People aged under 50 are generally not at particularly higher risk of becoming severely ill from covid-19,” the DHA continued. “In addition, younger people aged under 50 are well protected against becoming severely ill from covid-19, as a very large number of them have already been vaccinated and have previously been infected with covid-19, and there is consequently good immunity among this part of the population.”

In September, the United Kingdom also ended the guidance that children under 12 receive the mRNA shots for Covid-19. The U.K. Green Book’s rationale is refreshing in light of U.S. reportage on the subject:

In February 2022, the JCVI advised a one-off, non-urgent programme to offer vaccination to all children aged five to 11 years of age who are not in a clinical risk group. The immediate benefits of vaccination in this age group are likely to be small because children are at low risk from COVID-19 infection, and by February 2022 almost all children in this age group will already have been infected with COVID-19.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is going in the opposite direction of these European nations by mandating that schoolchildren be jabbed to attend school, regardless of health risk or natural immunity. Newsom has provided little, if not zero, scientific justification for this authoritarian measure. It’s no wonder so many Americans are fleeing a state that can no longer be described as “the land of the free.”

Evil.

He survived that recall attempt and assumes that he can act like a king now. And the kids are suffering.

This and that transgender/abortion protection bill that he just signed. Evil.

Of course, the voters did send the current crop of senators and assemblypeople there. Maybe Californians are really OK with this.

Newsome is only interested in getting his name in the news. He is, after all, ‘campaigning’ already for the 2024 democrat nomination for president.

He’ll kiss babies, as well as kill them, just as long as you hear about it and everybody knows his name.

What is with this “mandate” thing? We live (or once lived) in a free country. This is not a monarchy. We do not live under “rulers” who govern by edict. Any American who accepts this kind of nonsense should be ashamed!

Eff’n moron doesn’t know the difference between an experimental gene therapy and a vaccine. This will cause deaths and disabilities in perfectly heathy children that are at near zero risk from COVID. Newsom should be held personally responsible on a criminal and civil basis. If one child dies because of Newsom’s policy he should receive the death penalty, preferably from the end of a short rope.

"Maybe Californians are really OK with this."

.

I knew there must have been a reason(s) why I've never lived
in California. I've lived in seven US states - but never California.

I've gone to LA on business thrice, I've driven across parts of Cali
on my way between two other states twice - but never lived there.
And in the interest of 'full disclosure' I must say that I've
taken a crap in Cali several times...

“He survived that recall attempt and assumes that he can act like a king now”

This is what gets me. The people had a chance to get rid of that jerk but kept him in office. Like PA and Fetterman. If people are stupid enough to elect losers like these two, why have sympathy for them. That is especially true if this country re-elects Joe Biden or any Democrat for President in 20224.

Born and raised in California.

I can guarantee, that times were AWESOME here in the 80’s and 90’s.

Things were great till the California Supreme court nullified prop 187 in ‘94.

Here. Check it out for yourself:

Yeah. I don’t have a lot of hope for a rational voter base in California any time soon.

Typical female in California: “I like what’s his name? Newsome? He looks like a President...”

No joke...that’s what’s going on. That’s EXACTLY why he survived the recall. Women voting for who “looked” prettier.

I really don’t care if that makes me look like a misogynist. I really don’t. That’s how it went down.

Newsom is making a play for a top ticket run. Now, or 2028. If he goes up against Trump in’24, he may have a shot. If he goes up against Desantis ‘24, less so. ‘28 is too far out to guess at.
