Military defense contractor Oshkosh Defense was awarded the NGDV contract from the USPS, which included making a bunch of EVs. they said they probably couldn't make those EVs on a cost effective basis. Now they're buying EVs from somewhere else despite paying Oshkosh billions to develop their EV tech

Keep your head down, collect what they stole from you, and keep them off your back.
It’s one reason I retired. I have zero taxable income (two pensions that are small enough that I don’t get into “taxable income” territory), make a sizeable SS check because I was a very well paid COBOL contractor for 39 years, and I moved to a state where annual property taxes are a low three figures, even for 32 acres and a few buildings. And I have no mortgage.
Our male extended family members that have visited and toured the property have commented that it could make a very nice family compound - if it comes to that...
Ah, yes. The ‘government’ mandates. The democRATS have been ‘mandating’ often. I remember Kalifornia governor Grey Davis, he ‘mandated’ that 10% of all cars sold in Kalifornia would be electric by the end of a certain year. When the regular people did not follow his mandate, he made sure the ‘stats’ matched his mandate. He had the State purchase enough electric vehicles to reach the 10% figure. He could then boast (until he was recalled) that the mandate was successful. Reminds him of the good ‘ol Soviet Union. There were tractor factories, and outside the factory were hundreds of rusting tractors. The Soviets loved their 5 Year Plans, and if the Plan stated so many tractors, they kept making tractors. Supply and Demand? That was never part of socialism, communism, Obamism.
The government has way too much money. All this money leads to excesses and corruption.
“In 1988 the USPS bought a huge fleet “long life vehicles” for the carriers”
I think those were assembled in an old Frigidaire plant across the street from the GM S/T Truck Assembly plant in Moraine, OH.
Just so you know - 75% of the Lithium batteries coming out of China are being made in Concentration Camps by Uighur Muslims.
Basically, every EV but Tesla.
But if you forget to declare $11 in savings account interest, you will get a letter from IRS.
I owned a 1971 Nova with a V8 engine. The engine mal-functioned at 67k miles. The first Chevy dealer’s mechanic diagnosed it as busted rod bearings and quoated $3000 for repairs (1975 prices). I re-diagnosed the problem as bent rocker arm, and got the repair at another Buick dealer for $125. I drove that car until it had 150k miles with no further issues.
Too bad you don’t have that Nova now. They’re worth big $$$$ in any condition. If only we knew back then .
Driving for 8 years in Chicago winters, the body was rusted badly. But mechanically it was running great at 150k miles.
Lots of name-naming in that article.
They were wrong, of course - but spending 15-20 hours to fight them over it was a waste of time.
Maybe I should have done it to get a "steer clear of this one" flag on my permanent IRS record.
Yeah, those northern winters will do that. My first car was a 64 Buick Special. It was such a rust bucket some SOB reached through the rotted out rear quarters and made off with my tape player I had on a slide mount😖
The 70s Novas were a sweet ride.

Ultimate rat insider and criminal John Podesta just got $370B in EV walking-around money.
Ya’ll ain’t seen nothing yet. Wait till they mandate Digital Money. You know where they take all your money and give you an IOU which will be worthless.
Weren’t those the GM vehicles that had a rear axle dog tracking issue at higher mileage?
