Leave it to Simon Ateba of Today News Africa to ask some of the most inciteful as well as delightfully unwelcome questions at White House press conferences. Last week Ateba asked John Kirby if he is undermining White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre by often taking to the podium to answer reporter's questions. Ateba should know that Kirby doesn't need to lift a finger to undermine KJP since she does such a wonderful job of consistently undermining herself especially when she answers the very unwelcome questions that Ateba himself poses to her.

Shouldn’t they put a trigger warning on every frame of the daily press conferences? I mean, there’s an American Flag of Colonialist Racism right in the middle of the picture.
At least he’s not mimicking Dan Aykroyd saying, “Karine, you ignorant slut!”
Kind of surprised to hear that. I always thought he was a pretty effective spokesman.
Say what you want about John Kirby. Unlike Karine Jean-Pierre, at least he doesn’t stand there furiously fumbling through the pages in a binder to find an answer to read to reporters in response to a basic question.
Maybe he just likes to pick on foreign, French lesbian midgets with a U.S. Government job that no Americans wanted.
Karine is doing a fabulous job of appearing brain-dead...thereby, deflecting any thoughts that the utter stupidity coming from the administration is due to Brandon no longer having a functioning brain.
Karine is virtually ‘drowning’ in the throes of her complex job duties. At least John Kirby provides an occassional lifeline as he translates her purring and her puttering.
Leave it to a black reporter to bring this up.

I do recall being in Montego Bay, many years ago while in the service. T’was nice. I even tried to swim a little bit. Treading water, while holding my Double-Tequila Sunrise and listening to a live band.

My theory is that she doesn’t think she needs to because she has all the special interest group boxes checked so she’s willing to look like a stupid minstrel in front of the world as long as the paycheck clears.
It really has become a guilty pleasure to watch/hear her - she never fails to deliver. Not once, ever.
Curacao was INCREDIBLE. The capital, Willemstad, was like no place I've been to before. Very, very Dutch architecture yet still tropical. The city is divided by the harbor into two sections. We walked over a pedestrian pontoon bridge to the other side but about a half hour later, the bridge was gone. They rolled it back to allow a freighter to pass but we were able to take a free shuttle boat across the harbor.
Oh, and I picked up several bottles of what is considered one of the BEST liqueurs out there: Curacao Blue. Gonna make Margaritas out of them. The liqueur is made from the peel of local grown Valencia oranges which are so sour even the goats won't eat them but the peels produce miraculous oils and frangrances... and liqueurs.
I’ll bet the architecture was grand, splashed in all that bright sunshine, surrounded by may growing things. Those structures often the tallest buildings in sight.

I like this Simon Ateba. He is doing more journalism that our home grown "journ-O-lists". Maybe we need more foreign reporters to ask the tough questions.
