Rolling out a new student loan forgiveness program surely was a better thing for President Joe Biden to be talking about than the anniversary of the Kabul airport bombing that same week, but it hasn’t gone as swimmingly as the White House might have hoped.
One of former President Barack Obama’s top economists was scathing in his assessment of the plan, as Jason Furman blasted it as “reckless” and “[p]ouring roughly half trillion dollars of gasoline on the inflationary fire that is already burning. Economists are still debating its inflationary impact a week later.

Every single person I’ve talked to is outraged by this. Of course, I mainly talk to conservative people here in very conservative North Idaho, so it’s not a scientific sample.
It won’t pass constitutional muster, so not only is Brandon being slammed for it now, but he will be slammed by the debtors when it is rescinded.
As I had said from the beginning, inflation is a Democrats worst nightmare.
Because the only solution liberals EVER have is to throw more money at a problem. And unfortunately for them.. that’s the ONE thing you CAN’T do to fix inflation, and in fact, only makes it worse!
Biden and the liberals will bury themselves by trying to help.
It is outright vote buying.
Don’t miss the point that it was a great distraction from the anniversary of the Kabul debacle.
So far no one has filed suit over it, and until or unless someone does it will march forward—it looks like the GOP didn’t have anything ready to go but maybe they are analyzing the details.
They need to find out a way to lower the cost of tuition and I would suggest getting the government out of the student loan business.
This move by Biden is hurting him and the Democrats. Let them twist in the wind for a while.

My daughter was visiting from Minnesota last weekend and we talked about this. She owes $60k and is in favor of the student loan forgiveness plan. I tried to explain that adding more money into the system will only increase inflation and that $10k won’t really help her out much, but she didn’t change her mind. Then she went on her rant about “billionaires have way too much money and should share most of it with social programs...blah blah blah,” and I realized it was a lost cause. She’s only 35 and apparently still has some life lessons to learn. 🤦♀️
It’s a BIG WINNER for the Snowflake losers who whined for years to have somebody other than themselves pay for their worthless
“college” indoctrination and programming.
