California has passed a new regulation that will ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles; the new emissions rule, which was permitted by the Biden administration, will have wide-ranging effects beyond California and could accelerate the nationwide transition to electric cars.
California’s Air Resources Board (CARB) finalized a rule Thursday that will outlaw the sale of gas-fueled cars by 2035. The law may push an increasing number of states to adopt similar rules and force Americans to exclusively buy electric vehicles (EVs) as numerous Democrat-run states such as New York, Massachusetts and Maryland routinely adopt California’s “clean car” standards, according to data from the Maryland Department of the Environment.

REMEMBER: CO2 isn’t dirty. It’s not a pollutant either. It’s a vital plant NUTRIENT.
Deep States do not want people driving.
And they want to punish hydrocarbon producing red states like Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma
If so, these states will rapidly depopulate of working people.
CO2 is also where our oxygen comes from.
I buy my cars in NH and then drive them to MA and pay taxes and registration fees. No special reason, I just do that. If MA makes gas cars illegal to buy, my life will not change. This will be true in other areas as well.
Insanity
> If MA makes gas cars illegal to buy, my life will not change. <
Their next logical step would be to make it illegal to register a gas car in the state. That sounds crazy. But they are crazy.
I counted the Teslas in Big Sur last year. 2 out of 100 cars. Not very scientific, but I doubt CA has more than 4 pct EVs.
We need two walls to save this country. One along the west-central to west south coast and then along the Mexican border. The other long the NE coast. The rest of us will get along just fine.
More fossil fuel for me.. awesome!
None of the Climate Changers ever mention the Tonga Volcano which blew its top in January 2022. This volcano literally shook the planet. Strongest in 1200 years pumping over 50 billion tons of ash and vapors into the atmosphere which many experts claim is effecting our current wx worldwide.
Perhaps your life won’t change, what I fear is the more blue states that implement these crazy policies, the car companies will be forced to make more and more EVs, at some point it will become unprofitable for them to make traditional cars or it will make them so expensive basically forcing everyone everywhere to jump on the EV bandwagon.
I am with you, I plan on holding for as long as possible hopefully forever until I assume room temperature.
Just as an aside but California has a law where if you buy a vehicle with the intent of driving it in that state, you have to pay full taxes on it in California. IIRC you had to drive it for a year in other states before bringing it to Ca and avoid the tax.
If reports are true, the nation’s electrical grid will have collapsed long before that.
NH is a red state. We need to wall off loony tunes VT, and commieland MA.
ME so far is borderline but should be considered.
And there will be ways people will find to get around this and other enviro wacko laws. Just as they had drinking cruises in international waters and speakeasies and orders through Catholic churches (for wine) in order to evade one of the most tragic follies in American history, otherwise known as Prohibition.
Carbon rains down on us constantly from particle debris in Space that falls into the Earth’s gravitational pull. The Earth also catches all the soot(carbon) and stardust(carbon) the Sun throws out in its path. Carbon is the building block of mass. Without mass, we have nothing stand on, hold or consist of.
