Republicans in Alaska passed rank choice voting in 2020. This confusing system is only being pushed by RINOS and radicals in conservative red states. It allows Democrats to even the playing field when they have no chance of winning.
Republicans also passed mail-in voting.
..... Snip.....
Last night Sarah Palin ran in two races in Alaska.
The former governor ran in the 2022 primary race for US House of Representatives. She also ran in the special election to finish out Rep. Don Young’s term in the current US House of Representatives. Young died earlier this year.
Sarah Palin may lose the election depending on who the third place challenger’s voters picked for their second choice.
How can this even be legal?
Oh, and the race will not be decided until the end of the month because Republicans just passed mail-in voting!
The RINOs just tossed Alaska to the Democrats!
TPM attempted to explain the confusion in the Alaska elections this morning.
This is all a little confusing: There are two elections in play — both held Tuesday — along with a host of changes, implemented this year, to how Alaska conducts its elections, including a shift to ranked-choice. Here’s what you need to know.
Palin — along with Nicholas Begich, Republican scion of a major Alaskan Democratic family, and former state Rep. Mary Peltola, a Democrat who would be the first Alaska Native in the state’s congressional delegation — is competing to finish out the Young’s term in a special election. Independent Al Gross, who ran for Senate in 2020, also qualified for the general election but dropped out.
Voters have ranked their choices, but the winner won’t be clear until at least the end of August as mail-in ballots trickle in and officials tally the votes.

I've seen RCV in action in Maine, and it is FRIGHTENING how it easily weeds out good Republican candidates and installs democRATs.
The state of Alaska must somehow reverse RCV. Alaska is still a RED state.
Begich should drop out.
I’m sure the DS cabal have warned him to stay in....to split the vote...for the Dem.
Why are the Alaska election officials hiding the current 2nd and 3rd place votes . Begich is now third. How does the 2nd place votes look from him.
“How the hell did this sh*t RCV pass in the red state of Alaska??”
Liberal out-of-state PACs spent big money on propaganda (FAR more than was spent against the ballot proposal in 2020) and fooled just enough illiterate voters in Alaska to get RCV approved. The ballot measure passed 50.5% for it to 49.5% against it.
In order to get rid of it, probably there will have to be another vote.
Maine has had RCV for some elections since 2018, but Alaska — *because* it is considered to be a “red” state — is now serving as a model for the effectiveness (according to liberals) of Rigged Choice Voting.
It appears to be VERY effective as far as liberals are concerned, so don’t be surprised if Democrats and RINOs work together in other states to get RCV into law everywhere they can possibly do so.
Elder Nick and Mark were Dhimmicraps, if I remember correctly. Which tells me this guy is probably a RINO.
You’re probably right. One of them — Mark, probably — and his wife used to shop in a furniture store where my friend worked. They were quite odd, according to him.
Peoples second choice that voted for Begich, will mostly be Palin. Sure, there will be some people that only marked 1 choice for Begich, a few that would put the Dem in second; but the vast majority will have Palin as second choice.
I’m pretty sure Palin is gonna get it.
Mark was the guy who got his seat after the phony indictment of Ted Stevens.
Nick Begich is the grandson of former Dhimmicrap Rep. Nick Begich and the nephew of former DemoKKKrat Senator Mark Begich.
My timeline is probably off. I left there in the late ‘80s and didn’t pay much attention to the politics there since then.
Too many RINOs in AK to be optimistic
I’m sure the DS cabal have warned him to stay in....to split the vote...for the Dem.
I totally agree!
OMG. That's so depressing. I can't believe so many idiots fell for this. It truly is "Rigged" Choice Voting.

That's EXACTLY what I'm afraid of, and I have no doubt the democRATs and RINOs will try this. This BS needs to be stopped in its tracks before it hits any more states.
Thank you so much for your very informative comments. I hate RCV, but now at least I understand how it got passed in Alaska.
“ I guess I don’t get it. Without the RCV, wouldn’t the Democrat have already won…”
*****************************************************************
Nope, along with RCV also came the “jungle primary” (everybody participates in the same primary with the top 4 advancing to the RCV general election). Without these changes the Democrat would have merely won her party’s primary and would have competed with the ONE winner of the Republican primary which she would have lost.
Thank you for clarifying that for me. I guess I was having a brain fart yesterday and everything was in a fog.
Ranked choice voting violates the one person one vote principle.🤔
