An agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms has filed a federal lawsuit accusing two Columbus police officers of using excessive force against him while he was working in his official capacity.
James Burk, a 16-year veteran of the ATF, went to a house in the 3300 block of Edgebrook Drive near Dublin to take a shotgun from someone who allegedly wasn’t allowed to have a gun, even do it wasn’t confirmed by the police if the man wasn’t allowed to have a gun !
Nothing else was reported about the ATF agent’s mission.
When Burk knocked on the home door, a person inside called 911 and read the dispatcher Burk’s badge number while refusing to open the door.
Burk said the dispatcher told the 911 caller not to answer the door and dispatched Columbus police officers Joseph Fihe, a 20-year member of the division, and Kevin Winchell, who is also a 20-year veteran officer.

Whoa.. ho, ho,!
C'mon, mannnnn, that's a medical condition!
The first thing I would do if Feds of any kind showed up at my door is call my county Sheriff.
There were no active duty military service members involved, so everyone in the incident was a civilian.
The latest episode of F Troop!
😲😂✌
Feel good story of the day, and good on the auntie for calling the police on him.
YUP.
Dumbass ATF should have shown his credentials when asked for them, instead he continued to not obey the officer’s commands. As far as excessive force, the cops were just responding to his trying to get to his feet and fighting them. The officers nd city should counter sue.
I cannot believe it is ATF procedure for its agents to go out solo to collect illegally possessed weapons. (Heck, the FBI sends a SWAT team for elderly Roger Stone - what if they had been on a firearms recovery mission? Bring an AC-130 gunship?) This angle of the story has not really been explained.
I think it is the arrogance of the federal government agencies, especially under Biden, Garland and Wray.
The lady of the house told 9-1-1 Dispatch he was trying the door, and two of the Officers discuss that briefly on-scene at about the 17:54 mark in this BodyCam video footage.

“The first thing I would do if Feds of any kind showed up at my door is call my county Sheriff.”
Tough call, here. I think any random CA Highway Patrol (State Police) Officer would likely be more conservative than the County Sheriff, and more likely to act IN my behalf on the side of Law and Order than AGAINST it. Plus, their office is closer to my house.
Still, there’s some superseding legal authority Sheriffs have that may be the trump card in this sort of situation. I think I need to get better acquainted with those particulars.
I’ll say this. He turned from a Cocky “I’m a Federal Agent and that ain’t gonna happen” to “please! I have a medical condition....my wife is preg......I can’t breathe.....Please! don’t do this!......” little bitch in about 10 seconds. Loved every minute of it.. :0)
As far as “interfering with his duties while acting in a federal capacity....” He didn’t prove it on command from LE - refused to show/prove it...
Probably because the lawsuit was only recently filed.
Not tough for me. I live in a mostly rural county in northern CO. The current Sheriff and the guy who is going to replace him next year are both on the record saying they will not enforce any new Fed or state gun laws, just to give an idea where they stand.
The local PD would probably be alright but I live outside the town limits so the 911 operator would probably direct me to the Sheriff’s office even if I requested the PD. The mayor and town council are kind of woke too and the Sheriff’s office doesn’t answer to that kind of political overstructure.
You’re in a pretty good situation then. Folks living in inland counties of California, excepting Sacramento and surrounds, mostly enjoy much more conservative sheriffs, many of whom are still looking the other way regarding things like California’s hi-cap magazine ban.
Bttt.

The ATF gent is a thug.
“both on the record saying they will not enforce any new Fed or state gun laws”
Until local LE can enforce Federal immigration laws, they should not have to enforce Federal gun or drug laws (like “illegal” use of Ivermectin or even ingesting the horse paste).
Why the Federal agent was there in the first place?Hire an editor.
