During a House Oversight Committee hearing on Wednesday, gun manufacturers were accused of using imagery associated with white supremacist movements in their advertising campaigns.

Leave it to libs to conflate gun ownership to racism. The first gun control laws, from the 1800's were enacted by southern states during reconstruction Blacks. How many lynchings could've been avoided if Black people had easier access to firearms? Gun control is a RACIST DOG WHISTLE. Is Katie Porter this much of a dumbass? Comparing cell phone biometrics to firearms access? Apples and oranges. The biometrics are for reducing cybertheft, a much bigger problem than "gun violence".
And I don't know what's more intolerable, AOC's arrogant ignorance or her annoying tone of voice. She sounds like a jr high school girl who's a member of the student council thinking her s**t doesn't stink and she's the smartest person in the room, but way less mature and knowledgeable.
Oh, and I don't need some clown who coaches a bunch of 'roided up, girlfriend beating woke overpaid jocks lecturing me about "weapons of war". Another reason I gave up on the NFL.

Good characterization of AOC. Terrible state of affairs that such people are not just spouting off at a college protest demonstration but are now in Congress. Her generation has a strong tendency to think only their viewpoint counts and only their opinions are right.

The Colts guy talked about buying an “AK-15 Automatic Weapon”. I am not even a gun guy, but what the heck is that? The offspring of an AR-15 (which is NOT automatic) and an AK-47 (which you can’t just walk in and buy)?

Actually you can just walk in and buy an AK47. Semi auto like the AR15. In fact several US companies make them and build parts for them. Bottom line. Unless youโre licensed for auto weapons. If it shoots full auto you are breaking the law. Iโve seen and owned a lot of hardware, Iโve never seen a AK15. Much less a full auto one.

Relation between average self-perceived performance and average actual performance on a college exam.[1] The red area shows the tendency of low performers to overestimate their abilities. Nevertheless, low performers’ self-assessment is lower than that of high performers.
The DunningโKruger effect is a cognitive bias[2] whereby people with low ability, expertise, or experience regarding a certain type of a task or area of knowledge tend to overestimate their ability or knowledge. Some researchers also include in their definition the opposite effect for high performers: their tendency to underestimate their skills.
The DunningโKruger effect is usually measured by comparing self-assessment with objective performance. For example, the participants in a study may be asked to complete a quiz and then estimate how well they did. This subjective assessment is then compared with how well they actually did. This can happen either in relative or in absolute terms, i.e., in comparison with one’s peer group as the percentage of peers outperformed or in comparison with objective standards as the number of questions answered correctly. The DunningโKruger effect appears in both cases but is more pronounced in relative terms: the bottom quartile of performers tend to see themselves as being part of the top two quartiles. The initial study was published by David Dunning and Justin Kruger in 1999. It focuses on logical reasoning, grammar, and social skills. Since then, various other studies have been conducted across a wide range of tasks. These include skills from fields such as business, politics, medicine, driving, aviation, spatial memory, exams in school, and literacy.
The DunningโKruger effect is usually explained in terms of meta-cognitive abilities. This approach is based on the idea that poor performers have not yet acquired the ability to distinguish between good and bad performances. Interestingly enough, an AR-15 and AK-47 hybrid is out there, it’s called The MK-47 Mutant, and it’s made by CMMG. It uses the AR-15 direct gas impingement, but the lower receiver is made to accept AK-47 magazines. It’s an interesting rifle.
