Four-time Grand Slam tennis champ Naomi Osaka is being hit with backlash over the unintentionally — or cluelessly, depending on whom you ask — offensive name of her new media company, Hana Kuma.
Hey Mock-e-rey-nah?
The name appears to mean “flower bear” in Japanese.
Nobody demands that the Spanish language change its word for the color black (negro), do they?
And that entire model line is appropriating the culture of Equine Americans, ever since the racist, speciesist 1960s!! Coincidence? I don't think so.
Since the people were named after the word, and not vice versa, it wouldn’t make much sense. Like the rest of this crap.
She claims it means “flower bear” in Japanese.
This short article explains it...

“woman without a vagina.”
...hahahahahahahahahahasnortsnorthahahahahaha!!! If men can have babies, women can have a penis and impregnate!! Hahahahahaha!! What’s the prob?
Who’s upset about it? I see the keyword “Swahili”.
Are they the one’s ‘having a Cow’ over this?
I have little use for either of them, (both crybabies) but neither Naomi or Lebron are African. Sorry, Africans, just ignore the ads.
Or are some Africans just upset that they won’t be getting a piece of the dollar action? Is that really it?
lost in translation...
One of the most famous was chicken producer Frank Perdue, whose slogan in English was, “It takes a tough man to make a tender chicken.” However, translated to Spanish, the phrase became, “It takes an aroused man to make a chicken affectionate.”
Coors once put its slogan as “Turn it loose,” which means in Spanish, “Suffer from diarrhea.”
And when Coca-Cola entered China, it was only discovered after thousands of signs were printed that the company name was rendered as Ke-kou-ke-la, which locals took to mean, “Bite the wax tadpole,” or “Female horse stuffed with wax.”
In Taiwan, rival Pepsi fared no better. Its slogan, “Come alive with the Pepsi Generation” came out as “Pepsi will bring your ancestors back from the dead.”
“Mustang the Mach-E, sounds a lot like mocky, an old anti Semetic slur.”
Never heard the word. You certainly are up on all that.
“As if it harkens back to Henry Ford’s anti Semetic proclivities.”
Ford had a distrust of high financiers, which he got from experience and Napoleon Hill.
Ain’t enough Racism out there so they have to
Fan the Flames !
I have to admit, that explains a lot in my past.
Thanks for the laugh!
Hakuna matata.
And the entire brand appropriates Planet Americans and Roman God Americans!! Er, God Americans of Italian descent, er.....
You forgot metal-liquid-at-room-temperature-Americans.
Hey, hey! You’re gonna offend the Room Temp IQ Americans!
