Max Boot who is calling for direct US military involvement to defeat Russia and driven them out of Ukraine, is now setting up the argument for a totally different form of US Government. Basically, he's losing his mind over the recent Supreme Court decisions and is tired of small states having equal representation in the US Senate and wants something done about it.

I was in college when he wrote regularly for the student newspaper. I don’t know him, and never met him, but in his column, he posed as a full-spectrum conservative railing against the leftism of the university, its students/faculty and the city. He certainly had a lot material to work with. He constantly played up his background as a refugee from the Soviet Union, and he was a vocal anti-communist. Looking back on it, was he sincere? Or was it shtick? I have no idea. I suspect that, like a fair number of other secular Jewish neocons, his disdain for the Christian right is a motivating factor in his behavior.
No wonder they pay him millions to drag out the oldest cliche in the book.

If he were an actual idiot then he would deserve pity for not being mentally capable of understanding the issues. Sadly I’m afraid his problem is one of character. He does not wish to understand the issue, he just wants to find clever arguments about how his side is right in the face of it being obvious they are not.

Where is it said that the majority in any town has the right to exert tyranny upon the minority? Is the free marketplace of ideas to be foreclosed upon? There can be no “tyranny of the minority” in open discussion and honest debate. But that also precludes a “tyranny of the majority”.
