The Senate on Tuesday broke through nearly 30 years of stalemate on gun control legislation by voting 64 to 34 to advance an 80-page gun safety bill
The Senate voted to proceed to the bill just more than an hour after negotiators unveiled its text, giving lawmakers little time to digest its details.
The Daily Wire lists exactly what the bill would do, including provisions to grant the federal government the ability to deny you weapons based on “red flags” it defines. (Hint: Believing in the Constitution is a “red flag”)
Notably, the 80-page legislation includes language on highly controversial so-called red flag laws.

Rather than representing the interests of the individual states, who were intended to be more sovereign than they are at present, the Senate has simply become a club of elitists who use the 6 year term in office to do things they know their constituents don’t want, or strongly oppose. The term for a U.S. senator needs to be reduces to four years to end this, among other reforms like ending lame duck sessions, etc.
It's one thing if this vote was to pass the bill on up to the fake prez to make it a law. If that's the case then the Republican senators are truly the RINO's everyone is making them out to be. It's another thing altogether if this vote was to end debate and bring it to the floor for the real vote so that the right-denying Dims will be on record as trying to take away our rights but failing.
It does state that The Daily Wire has a listing of some of the provisions, but it doesn't even do the common courtesy of providing a link to the article it is citing.
It's worthless.
How about just repealing the 17th Amendment and go back to what the Founding Fathers intended for the Senate. Maybe even make the tie to the state corporately stronger like since state legislature appoints make it so they can withdraw it after two years.
The reason ‘they’ want to take our guns is because they know full well that they are doing things for which they should be shot.

This time callers are being added to a list for future action against said individual ? We take names and they don’t ?
CS Lewis wrote a short essay, “Living in an Atomic Age.” It’s message is to not allow your life to be governed by fear.
The mesage works if the bogie man is the atom bomb, covid, or a kleptocratic WWF government.
It’s not a function of enjoying it or endorsing it. It’s knowing the difference between what one can change, and what one cannot change.
I don’t agree with your view on the 6-year term. It worked fine prior to the 17th Amendment. If you make the tie stronger to the state - subject to state recall - preferably by the state legislature. Then again, the 6-year term is not a problem.
The Senate is supposed to think in broader terms, not be subject to the sudden chaotic whims of political fashion. It’s to be the saucer where the passions cool. I do agree with political contributions idea. Policing it so it would be truly from in the state or district would be a problem. I also would like to see the states & congressional districts responsible for the care, upkeep & staff support (must bring direct reporting staff from district or state!) for their senators and representatives. Push the permanent congressional staff further down the decision-making food chain. When the congresscritter changes they likely will change.
I think it’s a continuation of the old world. Family dynsaties and propped up front men in elected positions.
A good way to keep the human chattel productive and involved is to give them the illusion of control and choice.
All governments assert lily-white motives and honesty, and that their business is for the good of the people. Heck, the CCP Constitution says that. Communist manifesto seeks universal suffrage, etc.
The US Constitution was designed to limit the government. It failed. The anti-federalists wwere right.
Senate procedure in a nutshell ...
Motion to take up a matter for consideration
Motion to end debate
Vote on the substance
The first of three steps has been taken. senate protocol is minority veto (cloture), but as long as 60 senators are on board, anything can be greased through. If there are zero objectors, matters go from hidden from the public to passed in seconds. This bill certainly has at least one objector, so requires the elapse of time associated with motion to end debate. It’ll be passed by the weekend.
I am aware. But they still need to be voted out next time their names come up.
Well I have been voting a tad longer for the GOP since 1976 and campaigned for Reagan I left the GOP and dropped my affiliation in 2008 and termed my self a Independent Conservative Libertarian (ICL) for short. We have reached the end of the line with both Parties as they do not have our interests at heart..I am a small business owner and have decided its time to take a stand and stop feeding the beast..So however I can I fully intend to screw the Federal Government out of any moneys I can.

You are correct we the People have lost and the politicians have won just as been taking place for 200 plus years. Only a matter of time before more people know we lost
Would this be the red flag laws the Supreme Court declared unconstitutional.by a 9 - 0 vote?

Left-wing Lindsey, Comrade Cornyn, and Marxist Mitch rush to join the Stooge Schumer, like lemmings.
Flimsey Grahamnesty should have been voted out in 2014 after THREE amnesty votes.
