Vastly underrated arena/progressive rock band from the 70s. Sounds a little like The Police. Great song, great band.

I think of them as an 80s band. They had more hits in the 80s, I think.

Speaking of that song, there is great cover of it by Sing It Live on YouTube:

Foreigner was played constantly back then, and a few songs still are today.

Does anyone remember the band shooting star?

Wow. Prog bands like that are great. I love a punchy bass, like Ross Valory on Journey’s Stone In Love.

Foreigner wasn’t really known for its ballads, but this one is a favorite of mine and Mrs. Fidelis:

I Don’t Want To Live Without You - Foreigner

My music tastes developed in the 1960’s but I’ve always liked Foreigner’s music.

I had this album. One of my favorites. It was the only Foreigner album I liked.

Lou Gramm has always been one of my favorite rock singers.

Paul Revere and the Raiders & Dave Clark Five

Or Jefferson Airplane?

Paul Revere and the Raiders & Dave Clark Five were fun groups, many originated in my neck of the country in the Pacific NW/Seattle area.

Jefferson Airplane was also a great 1960's group but I was into the Beach Boys, CCR, even the Beatles.

Damn, lot of great groups through the '60's into the '70's, can't even name them all.

The “prog” influence was primarily from multi-instrumentaliat Ian McDonald. When he left, the band became much more of a standard arena rock band.

I thought their first album was their best as well.

Wore that 8-track out, then went to cassette, found the album and bought the CD. Yeah.... Lou Gramms solo stuff as well.

I have 8 or 9 Foreigner records. They transitioned nicely.
