The most unlikeliest of places continues to signal a possible inflection point in the left ugly woke culture war against our nation. Netflix, the streaming service, had gained a reputation for being the King of Woke. Like many other American companies, they seemed more concerned with genuflecting to leftist activists and placating them by focusing on Democrat-approved political programming.
First it was Disney, which in March embarked on a disastrous adventure by taking a very public stand in woke politics as they pledged action to defeat a Florida bill meant to empower parents. Their stock crashed and Americans of all stripes made clear their significant disgust with house that Mickey built.
Then in April, Netflix announced a loss of 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of 2020 and their stock crashed 37 percent on one day. Talk about a wakeup call! Upon news of the subscriber and stock plunge Elon Musk tweeted what everyone was thinking: “The woke mind virus is making Netflix unwatchable.”
The reasons for the Disney and Netflix disasters are varied, but both companies have publicly displayed a disturbing shift into the woke politics. When an economy gets tight and people have to make choices about where they spend money the first to be cut will be companies who have taken for granted and insulted American consumers for far too long.

No kidding. There are some Netflix original movies and series that I and the missus like to watch, and in every damn one of them there has to be a gratuitous gay character.

So to me having gays in every movie is not realistic.
That is why we only watch old movies now. There is jusy very little modern that is worth watching in our opinion. We jusy got sick,of being preached to by perverted wokesters
Or black lesbian, gay couple or purple haired freak or whatever on every damn commercial, ad or other preview. It is being forced down our throats to make you think this is normal.
I agree. And when you do find something that is worth watching you can be sure there will be some sort of sequel that will be ruined with woke crap.

Yup. I was surprised though that top gun supposedly didn’t go all woke in their sequel. So there seems to be a little hope for modern stuff anyways. “The Joker” movie was surprisingly unwoke too, which also surprised me
The kwheers make up less than 1% of the population but show up in almost all programming. Also there is a representative of a population segment that makes up only 12% of the population that shows up in much programming and in nearly 100% of TV commercials in one fashion or another. It seems that commercials are now all being produced by the NBNAA aka Nothing But Negroes Advertising Agency.
There is some serious social engineering going on here in the USA. I would really like to know who is behind it.
Me, too. About 90% of what I watch is old to avoid all the woke crap.
I suspect we are dying breed, unfortunately. It’s very sad that people under 35 just take all this woke crap as normal. The perverts knew from the beginning that it would take a couple of generations to change the culture and we have reached the end-point.
At least I hope and think we may have reached the end-point. The perverts always have a new perversion up their sleeves. Sex with innocent children seems to FINALLY be mustering some opposition.
I hope th3 pendulum swings back quickly. It was e cljrwging to see parents standing up for,their kids at school meetings, however, they got labeled as terrorists for doing so. The gates of hell are opened up agaisnt parents an people who stand for morality, but God says the gates of hell shall not prevail. Let’s pray that the pendulum starts to swing back.

Same is true for what passes for music today. There’s a very good reason that so many commercials, movies, and TV shows use classic pop and rock music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s in their soundtracks. Music is a product of the culture, and it has taken a soulless, narcissistic, superficial culture to produce the empty manufactured garbage that passes for “music” today.
Very true. I don’t listen to a lot of music these days, but when I do it is 80”s and 70’s stuff. I never got into pop music thouhg, preferring the rock of the Era. But yeah, the pop stuff has stood the test of time for sure- today’s stuff is sickening much of it.
That's exactly the reason I stopped watch TV. The number of ads and the amount of woke crap got to be too much.
I now watch mostly YouTube videos of heavy machinery moving dirt around.
Example: In season 1 of Harry Bosch (a LAPD homicide detective), Bosch has a supervisor who is a female Lt. One of the story lines in Season 1 is that Bosch has a brief fling with a female rookie uniform cop. Bosch's Lt. tells him that she too had a brief fling with a subordinate but ended it before it ruined her career. The Lt.'s subordinate lover was also female.
