Cape Coral, Florida – A fifth grade boy was arrested on Saturday for a text message threatening to carry out a mass shooting just days after the Uvalde mass shooting.
The 10-year-old boy is a student at Patriot Elementary School in Cape Coral, Florida.
"This student’s behavior is sickening, especially after the recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said. “Making sure our children are safe is paramount. We will have law and order in our schools! My team didn’t hesitate one second…NOT ONE SECOND, to investigate this threat.”
“Right now is not the time to act like a little delinquent,” Sheriff Carmine Marceno said. “It’s not funny. This child made a fake threat, and now he’s experiencing real consequences.”

Good. If the kid thought he was just being funny...he wasn’t.
You know...we all know the kind of kid that might have thought something like this was funny back in 5th grade. And that same kid still would have been an a-hole in high school.
That’s like joking about guns and bombs in an airport.
Its probably because he was super frustrated that he could no longer say the word gay in the classroom

Part of the fault is the 24 hour media. Some people feel the only way to get noticed is to kill people. If we ban AR-15s, they will use handguns, shotguns, repeater rifles, etc. Ban those and they go to bombs, like the 1927 Bath Michigan school bombing.

The Boy’s family is probably more shaken up than he is at this present time. Some kids have grown up so used to being vicious and safely anonymous online, they have never learned how to hold certain blunt and graphic statements inside.
There has been no direct consequence other than receiving Angry Emojies

They arrest the 10 yr old but people much older and far more capable of implementing such a plan say they’ll do it, to whomever will listen and …crickets…
If America still has a backbone, it’s dedicated, no-nonsense Sheriffs.
I’d say it’s not just about scaring that one kid and his parents straight. It’s about scaring all parents into realizing that they’d better get real with their kids or all hell will break loose on the whole family.
That’s like joking about guns and bombs in an airport or in a plane as it is loading up with passengers.
There should be consequences, and this kid should be closely investigated. If he has a track record of animal abuse, he should be placed on a firearms-disqualifier list.
Things the authorities will not do: Stop inculcating despair, stop setting children at each others’ throats.
