In the last 50 years, is there anything that UN involvement has not made worse?
Why waste food on the Starving ? The UN would love to make everyone Starve
>>In Sri Lanka, protests have already erupted over food and fuel shortages, which threaten to bankrupt the country.
Reminder - Sri Lanka went Greenie extremist on agricultural policy and farming outputs predictably plummeted. They brought the shortage on themselves.
Greenie Extremist = Culling Humans
Well at least they won’t have to worry about climate change.
.
“World Economic Forum gathering in Davos, Switzerland...”
All of the fat cats attending should pool their resources and save a country or two from starving.
Just sayin’...
“Well at least they won’t have to worry about climate change.”
Or be subjected to any mean tweets! *SNORT*
Nowadays, all famines are political in root cause.
This making more starving, especially after they take the lion’s share in “overheard costs”
IOW, they are just going to starve a different group of people.
And when it’s *given to the starving* the starving will not get it either. The corrupt governments will take it all and feed themselves to remain fat, dumb, and happy, and in control while the masses continue to starve, just like in Venezuela.
Yep. Sri Lanka did away with artificial fertilizer and the next year’s crops underproduced, bigley.
It’s what in store for us, too. Baby formula shortages were just the tip of the iceberg.
Was Klaus Schwab arrested for fraud last year ?
But then they would have nothing to fly their corporate Jets to to meet about.
True dat. I'm no farmer but I watch them on youtube. Modern farmers have to fertilize every crop, every year, and prices have tripled due to import and supply chain issues.
Energy on the farm is a different issue, but somehow the same. Not only is diesel fuel expensive, but the additive needed to make farm machinery burn cleanly is suddenly expensive and rare. The additive is mostly urea, which is also used to make fertilizer, and is mostly imported from Eastern Europe.
Some farmers use animal manure to fertilize, rather than using commercial products. This has worked for millenia, but there are health and environmental issues to consider.
I guess it’s better than taking dresses from the poor and giving them to the ultra rich.
We’re a farming family so these are known issues for us and will be better known by the general public in months ahead. Nothing wrong with using animal manure as we have done so with our cattle who do it automatically and when we clean out the stables. Even then it’s not enough to keep producing bumper crops each year.
Problems come from where it is produced and left unused, cattle lots, and where it’s needed, the Midwestern farms that do mostly grains and heavily use artificial fertilizer. Transportation costs make that prohibited before the current diesel prices.
Why don't they just grow their own food?
