Less than five months ago, on January 1, 2022, Eric Adams was sworn in as mayor of New York City. Before that he was a Brooklyn Borough President, a member of New York State’s Senate, and a police captain. It’s certainly a nice local résumé but the emphasis is on “local.” Moreover, his short tenure as New York City’s mayor has been undistinguished. Nevertheless, Adams has announced that he is considering a presidential run in 2024. Only someone living deep within the leftist bubble would be so disconnected and egotistical to think that’s a logical thing to say.
One of the bad things about Trump’s first, successful run for the presidency (before the fix destroyed his second, successful run for re-election), was that it made others believe that they don’t need any significant political experience to be president. In a way, that’s true. Our Founders envisioned citizen presidents and disliked career politicians, as all sane people do. However, these citizens were expected to be successful men with a vast body of accomplishments. And while Trump was accomplished, his presidency vividly demonstrated that someone unaware of the mafia element in American government will be eaten alive.
Adams is not that accomplished. He’s adept at running for office but not necessarily at getting things done. Certainly, during his first almost five months in office, he’s had a lot of stumbles.
It began when Adams tried to hire his own brother for a well-paying job ($210,000) in the NY Police Department to serve as Adams’s “personal security detail.” When he was challenged, Adams claimed “white supremacy” and anarchism justified the nepotistic hire. Regarding that “white supremacy” claim, video also emerged of Adams calling his former police colleagues “crackers.”

all we need to know..
Read his long list of anti-Jewish statements and you’ll be even less surprised
He’s got John Lindsay as precedent but Lindsay had also been a US Congressman.
But not all we need to do.
Perhaps he’s not that stupid and realizes by looking at the current situation that any idiot can be elected, so now’s his chance.
Don’t forget Rudy….but he was also a successful prosecutor
Limbaugh said it best: Failure and incompetence are resume enhancers for democrats. His announcement gives him license to continue ignoring NYC’s problems and the excuse that he’s busy with his national campaign.
Either it was a joke, or he is a joke.
I hope this Adam gets nominated along with lightfoot from Chicago as His VP. It will be fun
Good point...Bloomberg too.
It argues one heck of a vacuum within the Dem party that we are even having this conversation. Adams is at best a third- or fourth-tier candidate with a short resume and an entitled attitude - rather like one Hillary Rodham Clinton, “the most experienced candidate ever” whose “experience” was a litany of corruption and failure. You need more than a tarted-up resume. Nevertheless, that vacuum is real, which is why we have a cackling moron for a VP and a geriatric lunatic behind her in the presidential succession, although hopefully not for long. We have Harris because there wasn’t anybody better. That’s pretty damning.
was that it made others believe that they don’t need any significant political experience to be president.
They shouldn’t. All they should need is some common sense and some good managerial skills. But government, from the smallest city council to the Federal monster, is filled with bias, greedy, power hungry, corrupt bureaucrats, appointees, staffers, and elected representatives, so unless you go whole hog and get rid of everyone and start over, it’s an uphill battle from Day 1.
Just think about how dirty our local officials/zoning boards/city councils/county commissions. A level headed, sane thinker, who actually cares about the people they see every day, walking down the street, isn’t wanted. They actually have some integrity.
And Adams has none of that, never had it and doesn’t want it. He’s an affirmative action baby, nothing more. Just like his police commissioner.
So many on here like to talk about the President’s “bad picks”. He had a roster to pick from. That roster was given to him by McConnell and Schumer, to some extent. And the one thing that I can nod at, sadly, is that he was naïve to think that there were folks in Congress and the federal bureaucracy that actually cared about the country, the middle class and working stiffs, trade agreements, security, the border and the general welfare of the country, as much as he did and as much as they did in their campaign speeches.
Think about it....there are Marines, right this very second, that would fight you to the death if you said something negative about Mattis. And what did Mattis prove himself to be, after all the meme’s and one-liners attributed to him, turn out to be nothing but a “left wing, globalist” that wanted to work for Clinton. Kelly wasn’t much different.
I think it’s pretty obvious that one of the main reasons they got rid of him and are doing their best to keep him out in ‘24, is that they know/knew that he would have 4 years, after learning & seeing for the first four just how evil-corrupt-broken things were, that he could go scorched earth and burn it all down. Just like the end of Fight Club. Nothing left. All the corruption, money laundering, kick backs, greed, name it.....GONE.
They ain’t having that.
Affirmative Action morons....The only blacks dems like
Is code speak for, Stacy Abrams is sitting on a pile of money, huh?!
Lindsy was a red.
Oh my!
And let,’s not forget one of the biggest boobs ever to run for President:
NY Mayor Bill De Blasio
What’s more, his approval rating has already dived below 50%.
