Senate Democrats on Thursday introduced an ambitious new gun control legislation that would require all Americans to obtain a Department of Justice (DOJ) license with a 5-year limit before purchasing a single gun. The new bill would also give the government the power to confiscate guns if the license is revoked.
This new legislation was introduced by Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Bob Menendez (D-NJ), and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn).
....... Snip........
The bill also authorizes “procedures to ensure that any firearm is removed from any individual when the individual’s license is revoked.” Confiscated firearms would only be returned to the owner if the license is reinstated.
The Attorney General could deny a license for numerous reasons, including if the applicant has a “history of drug or alcohol abuse,” has “any recent acquisition of firearms, ammunition, or other deadly weapons,” or has a “history of unsafe storage or handling of firearms.”
Additionally, the legislation would make it illegal for “any individual to sell or otherwise dispose of a firearm to a person” unless they report the exchange to the Attorney General.
Last month, Biden released a statement calling on Congress to pass gun control laws.

How many cosponsors?
Stop it.
“ or an actual rebellion.”
Well, obviously they want a rebellion.
You shouldn't comply, nor should any gun owner.
We’ll see.
I heard this morning that it will be monkey pox (which is not really a transmittable virus like Covid, but hey, it sounds scary) and do further lockdowns in conjunction with the power of our new overlords the WHO. We are so screwed.
“That would create the mother of all unintended consequences. “
I disagree. I think that consequence is intended. Like Biden said, “If you’re gonna fight the government you need some F-15’s and nuclear bombs.” I think there is an element on the Left that fanaticizes about killing off “all the Republicans*” Like most liberals, those people don’t know how things work. There’s just this place in their mind that equates civil war with utopia afterwards. I’m reminded of the original movie “Fahrenheit 451” where everybody wore white pajamas and rode around on monorails.
*Liberals conflate Republicans with conservatives because all those “sophisticated” liberals don’t have a refined view of which is what.
ROFL
“This is Putin’s Firearm Confiscation bill. The least the Democrats could do would be to give him credit like they have for everything else this year”.
Very good thinking. It’s time to start mentioning Liberal Policies, Proposals, Laws, etc as something Putin supports or does.
**”That sounds just like something Putin does or wants to do”.**
All the free carry states are going to crumple this law up and put it in an uncomfortable place.
Once they do this, create another pandemic lockdown, turn our sovereignty over to WHO, go to digital currency and vaccine passports we will have no recourse and they know it. And they will cheat again in Nov.
I’m not sure.
“—’shall not be infringed”
We will selectively make examples of the lawless-makers, their friends, family, and cooperating parties by ruining their lives. Not farfetched, is it?
The criminals can have their guns for life.
Thank you. Amen to that!
It is no longer in anyone’s best interest to debate this issue any further either.
It is time to just say ‘No!’
Buy a pound of Fentenal, get a free gun, from your friendly cartel.
And you sure do love to belittle your fellow freepers. Only if you become a real admin should you act like one.
Senator Blumenthal sponsoring Gun Control legislation is incredible. Especially a Senator who claimed numerous Combat Infantry Badges and Purple Hearts in combat in Viet Nam and never has been there. He must have knowledge about Firearms that no one else has; its almost Supernatural The people from Connecticut must request his blessing daily. Suckers!
I need to make one of those motivational style meme gifs with the words “Democrats: starting civil wars since 1861”.
