The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has approved Uganda’s plan to build East Africa’s first nuclear power station. Next step: getting $100 billion… China enters the chat…
A statement from the government of Uganda said Aline des Cloizeaux, the IAEA’s director for Africa, had told Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni of the approval on Monday.
Des Cloizeaux is reported to have said: “We have concluded that Uganda is ready for the plant. We in the agency are ready for all the support through training so that the project becomes reality.”
An International IAEA team of experts conducted an eight-day mission to Uganda to review its infrastructure development for a nuclear programme in December.
Museveni responded that Uganda was developing nuclear energy to make up for shortfalls in hydropower, presently its main source of electricity generation.

I literally recoiled in horror from the title.
If the green-cultists of this world aren't total hypocrites, then they should welcome places, like Uganda, burning wood and coal to move to high-energy, low pollution nuclear.
When Uganda has trouble paying on the $100 billion loan to China, China will be much harsher than we are on the $1.6 treelyun China defaulted on us and hasn’t paid on since World War II.
Not exactly Kingsford briquettes he’s carrying.
From Idi Amin to a nuclear power station. Nice going IAEA. The article stated Uganda has trained 22 nuclear scientists to a master’s degree level and intends to train more. I wonder who is providing that training and plans to put up the money for this whole operation? China! The Chinese have poured billions in economic aid and provided scientific and technological assistance to a number of African nations. Not a coincidence that the entire African continent is rich in natural resources and China is aiming to get its share of them!
what could go wrong?

Radioactive cannibals?
DAMN the BEE!!! -— wait, wut???
Uganda also has a number of natural resources including oil, gold, salt, copper and iron. The British and Chinese already have oil firms exploring for more oil reserves. Follow the natural resources! Being a major player in Uganda’s economic development will be beneficial to China.
Bad juju.
Asinine headline.
OH, SH!T!!!
So, just who will be doing the design, construction, and operating of this plant?
That nasty old IQ distribution Bell Curve comes to mind at seeing the thread tile
With a name like Cluseaux involved, what could go wrong!
Seriously, the underdeveloped sub-Saharan African nations deserve reliable energy as much as anyone. It should not be China providing the technology and financing.
My stock broker is in Uganda, I think. He says this project will pay big dividends. So I gave him my bank numbers so he could do direct deposits. Should be a good deal? The check is no doubt in the mail?
You try grilling an elephant with regular briquettes.
Like giving an M-60 to a three year-old. What could go wrong?
What couldn’t?
