We Are Now At War With Russia [Karl Denninger]
The Market Ticker ^ | April 28, 2022 | Karl Denninger

Good God, I hope everyone in Congress recognizes what this bill, which apparently has now passed and Biden will sign it (seeing as he asked for it directly), means.

Let's recap.  Per our Constitution the military is under civilian control.  That is, the actions of the military, including weapons used by same or suitable for same, are under the control of Congress and The Executive.

Congress must authorize anything that leads to expense, and such must come from The House.  Again, this is basic Constitution stuff.

Now Congress has explicitly authorized, and Biden will sign, this bill that specifically permits the transfer to Ukraine of basically anything other than nuclear material.  Seriously folks -- that's the only real exception found in the referenced definition.

By agreeing to provide direct weaponry that can be and will be used in the waging of war by one of the two parties to same we have entered the conflict.  That our GIs are not directly there is of no consequence.  This is no different than shipping arms to Britain during WWI in the Lusitania or the lend-lease provisions in early WWII that ultimately led us to get involved there in Europe.  Indeed Pelosi directly referenced those early WWII provisions indicating that she knows damn well the implications of what Congress just did.

In fact it was lend-lease of March 1941 that led Hitler to come after the United States; we had entered the war as a belligerent by officially agreeing to supply war material to Britain.

In those two wars there was no realistic means for the Germans or other Axis powers to hit us directly on our own soil.  But they did in fact do that in response when they sunk the Lusitania, which had a bunch of Americans on board.  They could reach that ship...

Karl Denninger is a fool.

He has an open forum/website, and is on Twitter.

You're welcome to debate him and let us know the results.

I doubt if you'll do it - just like you won't suit up for the war you want other peoples' children to fight.

The US was in an ideological confrontation with USSR and China. Now it is about the protection of Biden’s corruption in Ukraine the the European energy sales.

Hitler tried to keep us out of the war. Raeder and Doenitz repeatedly tried to get permission to fire on American ships. They both knew that we had a hand in sinking the Bismarck and that we were escorting UK bound convoys almost to Iceland. Hitler ignored them. FDR had hoped a German action would be causus belli but that never happened. In Korea the presence of Soviet piloted MIG 15s did not cause us to go after the USSR.Our problem here is on our side we have a
dementia handicapped puppet POTUS with a totally amateur, unskilled, and ideologically driven staff. On the other side there is an insane leader with no outside limits placed on him. Even at his worst Stalin had to consider the Politburo.

This is just a money laundering scam.

Almost all our inventory of military weapons is gone, the US military now has zero anti tank weapons.

And it would take years to make the arms needed to send to Ukraine. Which means very soon Ukraine and Russia will sign some peace treaty because Ukraine knows it cannot win.

So in the end these billions are just gonna go to Zelensky who will either flee the country to his mansion in Florida or he will rule Ukraine like the North Korean Kim family.

And the Russian ruble is skyrocketing, Europe is buying gas now from Russia at an even higher price than before, and nations like Poland are lying when they say they are not buying Russian gas because it is just instead buying Russian gas through Germany.

Plus with all the money it is making Russia can keep making weapons indefinitely plus any additional arms they can buy from China.

All of it made a sort of sense. It simply turned out, most of their assumptions were wrong.

I believe that the weapons are excluded under the 2nd amendment from being under federal control. Of course they have tried everything to neuter it and the courts have allowed it.

Hawai’i became a state in 1959.
I assume that’s his intention of “us”.

Has a single warmonger Freeper signed up to fight? Just yesterday, I read an article here about 2 American wounded in an artillery barrage in Ukraine. I think it a bad cause for an American to die for, but I definitely have respect for those who stop blabbering online and go get their war on. We have no such ‘men’ here among our warmonger cohort.

Love him or hate him, Denninger has a proven track record.

Brellium hasn't created an about page.

I think Denninger is really bad at party politics [losertarian], but I trust his other instincts.

They enjoy watching other peoples' children die, apparently.

Similar to Brit football hooligans, but with more blood and intestines.

We saw it with covid. “the Current Thing” is hard to resist for the weak and easily led minded. They so much want to be a part of the in crowd.

Back when I was younger, my friends and I would wonder how the Germans went full Nazi.

Now I see how the Germans went full Nazi.

I am astonished to see that so many people on our “side” has gone along with the mass hysteria.

After seeing them steal the election and with all the Hunter Burisma crap, I am now a lot more inclined to believe such a theory.

The ruble is at 72.9 today. Worth more than before the special operation started.

and nations like Poland are lying when they say they are not buying Russian gas because it is just instead buying Russian gas through Germany.

GazProm says if they try it, the flows will be reduced by the appropriate amounts.
