Every government that bans self defense (and the neccessary tools to do it) essentially tells the world that it would rather have criminals or tyrants live rather than citizens, if the two were ever to get in a tussle. This shows where the allegiance of such governments lie, and thereby reveals them to be ethically and morally bankrupt.
In case there’s any doubt about this, please observe the Blue America cities in which criminals up to and including murderers are released from custody, but otherwise law-abiding citizens who violate gun control laws are treated very harshly.

Seriously? A disarmed populace is sine qua non for tyranny, always. It doesn't mean that tyranny always immediately follows disarming the people, but tyranny is always preceded by it. There are no exceptions.
