Police said the person of interest in this shooting attack, 62-year-old Frank James, rented the U-Haul connected to the mass shooting attack.
It took several hours for the police to identify Frank James as a person of interest because according to NYC Mayor Eric Adams, a glitch caused the cameras in the subway to malfunction.
Totally normal.
"We are communicating with the MTA to find out was it throughout the entire station or was it just one camera,” Mayor Adams told WCBS 880.
“The cameras at three subway stations the NYPD attempted to access — 25 St, 36 St and 45 St in Brooklyn— were not transmitting in real time due to a glitch.” ABC News investigative reporter Aaron Katersky said. “The cameras were not sabotaged. It was a computer malfunction.”

The cameras only malfunction at very convenient times.
“He tells his new hires that they better not steal out of the cash register or he’ll have them on video lol.”
The resto’ of my family member has a bar too. I and another close relative of the family were at the bar (for free booze, what else?) and he says to the bartender “no worries, we have everything recorded if something happens to you”.
I almost puked the Jack I drank to stop from laughing.
Lol.....I hear ya?
Not much works in New York City!
“glitch”
What about the thousands of cameras everyone ELSE!!
They know where he came from and where he went by all the cameras. The local police contact Ring and other doorbell camera makers and security camera makers and get the information on all sorts of crimes.
The FBI? Naw, cannot do anything sine 1 camera was not “working”.
This is typical communist procedure....get millions for cameras to "protect" citizens. Give out lucrative contracts to friends and family for operations, maintenance, etc. No accountability when there are failures. The money keeps flowing in and laundered back to the politicians who claim they care about the "little guy".
See nothing, say nothing.
The half-eaten donut is the kicker.
“Sugar rush tooo laaa...zzz”
My guess is that the person monitoring the cameras at that particular time is also a member of the perpetually aggrieved race (that must always go unnamed) and turned the cameras off.
Oh, c’mon! The derp state isn’t even trying anymore.
That or it could be typical Democrat run city corruption.
A completely incompetent but politically connected “security contractor” got an extremely lucrative contract to provide cameras, hardware, and software at undoubtedly inflated prices. And when the time came to actually make all those expensive toys actually work they failed miserably.
So the Democrat run transit authority did the only logical thing. They extended the lucrative contract for another 3 years and gave the completely incompetent but politically connected contractor even more money.
I think that’s the more likely scenario.

Glitch happens.
Nope. Occam’s razor.
I used that razor. Being more than passingly familiar with the municipal contracting process I’ll bet I’m far more right than wrong.
It’s the NYC subway system, for crying out loud. Rats probably chewed through the Ethernet cables. The higher end video surveillance systems are pretty much plug and play these days. The company I work for sells 4 different manufacturers.
If they went with Hanwah or Bosch all the installer has to do is mount it, plug in the cable, and hit Auto Discover on the admin panel. Pelco, Axis, and Flir are very similar.
The Milestone software can be a bit tricky if the integrator isn’t familiar with it. Wisenet is first class, though.
“Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence.”

Some ghetto dog covered for a "brutha."
You could be right. The sad thing is we will never really know. I’ve completely lost faith in law enforcement at every level, especially big city and federal law enforcement.
They’ve all lied to us so many times that it’s become impossible to give them the benefit of any doubt. Every single rider on that subway car had a hand held camera connected to the internet that provided real time video of this event as it happened.
Yet the City of New York with a budget of hundreds of billions of dollars can’t or won’t make their video surveillance system work. It’s inexcusable. A rational population would be descending on City Hall with pitchforks, torches, hot tar, and feathers this morning running these maliciously incompetent boobs into the wilderness.
The smart ones, and in this case “smart” is an extremely relative term, are packing their **** and leaving. No doubt to foul their new nests in the more conservative parts of the country.
Screw NYC. They voted for this. Now let them enjoy the consequences.

I bet that glitch is human and has a name but we'll never know it. Software is hard and racist.
