The tennis world has been shocked this week at the Miami Open.
Fans witnessed an unprecedented number of withdrawals/retirements from the tournament at Hard Rock Stadium.
The most shocking moments of the event occurred when both favorites, Italian Jannik Sinner and Spaniard Paula Badosa retired from their quarterfinal contests on the same day.
Yahoo Sport reported:
Soon to be World No.3, Badosa was in tears as she was forced to bow out of the quarter-final after not feeling well against American Jessica Pegula.
On Monday, Badosa admitted she wasn’t sure if she could compete in her fourth round match that she subsequently won.
However, the Spaniard was in obvious discomfort when she retired sick at 4-1 in unfortunate circumstances for the in-form star.
On the men’s side of the draw, Italian phenom Sinner was also forced to retire against World No.103 Francisco Cerundolo.
Right after an impressive display to defeat Aussie Nick Kyrgiosin the Fourth Round, Sinner was in pain due to blisters on his foot.
Cerundolo admitted it was ‘strange’ seeing his friend hardly walking on the other side of the court.

Maybe they all shared some gas station sushi.
It’s tough to play with blisters.
How many did they have to lug off the course at Augusta today?
I live in one of the most liberal, heavily-vaxxed states in the country. I don’t see runners dropping in the park.
All that said, it does strike me as unusual that all these athletes are having problems. In short, what the hell is going on?
Indeed, the stomach bug and other contagious viral infections never existed prior to the vaccine. Apparently this is yet another case of the vaccine using its ability to time travel, as multiple players have been forced out of tournaments in previous years before there was COVID19 or the vaccine.
Meanwhile they got over their bugs and are playing in the Charleston Open without issues. Quite “catastrophe” indeed.
For Sinner, they said it was a blister.
you just belittled exactly what is going on.
I am, for the record, unvaccinated against Covid. I’m by no means a cheerleader for these very new shots. But I don’t want to to be an uncritical believer of the “antivax” crusaders either. There just doesn’t seem to be a clear picture here.
Dont label people against THIS vax as antivax
If I needed a tetanus shot I’d take one
Being against an untested experimental gene therapy shot is not being antivax
The president of Bayer’s Pharmaceuticals Division is on record describing the mRNA shots as “cell and gene therapy” and acknowledging public wariness of the technology.
Bayer executive Stefan Oelrich, LifeSiteNews reported, made the statement at the World Health Summit, which took place in Berlin Oct. 24-26, drawing 6,000 people from 120 countries.
You’ve already fallen for the strawman fallacy pushed by people who want to frame anyone against this as antivax
cripes
Close...they all had the fish.
Tennis is a dangerous sport
Wild guess? A lot of them are Europeans who took the AstraZeneca vaccine.
What is going on is that different people with different genetics and different conditions have different levels of reaction to it.
There has been discussions that there were differing levels of ingredients in different batches, and that the batches that had higher percentages of certain ingredients were causing higher percentages of problems. it was said many of the worst cases came from as few as five particular batches. this made its posting around here and other places, otherwise I wouldn’t have know about it.
