That was the message that Will Smith delivered to Chris Rock at the Academy Awards when he smacked the comedian. And a warning to Dave Chappelle: Better stay at least an arm's length away from Will Smith at all times.
One should never bring a knife to a gunfight (James Coburn notwithstanding), but you’d think you’d be okay bringing a Rock to a fistfight.
That was so staged. They were smirking.
Fake. But who cares. No reasonable person watched this nonsensical show.
It sure appears a fake. Seems if somebody hit Chris Rock, security would detain him until cops showed up. And no charges yet filed against Will? IMHO, the show had been losing ratings and was desperate to get people interested, having to compete with 24/7 reporting on the Ukraine.
It was definitely staged. Consider this: They always have a ton of security at the Oscars and similar events. Once Smith “slapped” Chris Rock, and it was evident there was a physical altercation unfolding, how come no security people rushed onto the stage to break it up? Why was there no effort by staff and security to get the situation under control? As Will Smith walked back to his seat, why didn’t any security or staff people come out to check on Chris Rock and ask if he was okay?
Looked like the house boss was keeping a field worker in line, at least that is my friend’s thought....l

How about a bunch of “teenagers” running through the crowd turning over tables, stealing borrowed jewelry and their goodie bags? I’d tune in to see that.

It's much more plausible then him and Chris Rock coming up with a scheme for publicity....looking at the entire thing...including his "apology" and fall out it's clear that it wasn't faked.
