So much for international trade or global reliance. Time to get back to self sufficiency as best we can.

So they know a famine will occur if this happens, demand more money and walk off, knowing they could be dooming a lot of people to starvation.
Sounds reasonable to me. Are there any scabs who can load the cars?

How old is this story? The last report I saw a couple of days ago said the union agreed to go back to work after the company agreed to go to arbitration to settle the dispute.

Wednesday in Calgary, I was held up at a level crossing for 15 minutes, by a train. The two lead engines were CP, as was the ‘pusher’ engine at the back. I must assume it was a Canadian Pacific train.
The crew might have been management or perhaps strikebreakers.

One has to wonder how much residual damage has been done to that company after having a NYC hedge fund damn near destroy it.

Thousands of conductors, engineers, train and yard workers will return[ed] to work [last] Tuesday after an agreement between Canadian Pacific Railway and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference ended a two-day work stoppage. It ended 3 days ago; need a new panic topic.

I’m glad I can buy produce from the local Amish. They use natural fertilizer that comes from horses and cows.
