Government Controlled Central Bank Digital Currency: An Extinction-Level Threat Against Liberty
Based Underground ^ | March 22, 2022 | Torcer

Joe Biden’s Executive Order on March 09, 2022, reenergized the social media buzz over digital currencies to the point that many far-left national socialist media sources began talking as though this dangerous threat to liberty is now inevitablePart of the problem is that we have a classic case of bait and switch in progress, replacing the anonymity and ease of use of cash and coin with a technological nightmare that will eviscerate freedom and individual civil rights.  Your friendly neighborhood government oligarchs are only too happy to cynically exploit the goodwill built up over the years by Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

This is a complex subject matter far beyond the scope of a short essay.  Unfortunately, the party in control of the government and the nation’s leftist socialist media (but we repeat ourselves) take full advantage of this fact to confuse the issue aware of the familiarity most people have with credit and debit cards, as well as the recent excitement over the most prominent cryptocurrency Bitcoin and secure in the knowledge that most would falsely consider Central Bank Digital Currencies as the same thing.  We’re here to make the case that there is a vast difference by several orders of magnitude, that any Central Bank Digital Currency would be liberty’s extinction-level event.

What are cryptocurrencies and Central Bank Digital Currencies?

Even though the media sometimes refers to them interchangeably,...

One simple support that makes the house fall: the people say "no".
As in "screw you", "f off", "walk around the mausoleum known as DC while announcing your latest pronouncments", "go hide in your bunkers while fire rains down from a war you instigated and when its done we'll be mixing the concrete to seal your sorry butts in your hiding place".

In reality that doesn’t work, for two reasons.

Firstly:

The government could simply start out just with social security recipients and move from there. This one piece would be massive.

Those on social security already lost their freedom years ago and are wards of the state. They will not refuse a programmable digital currency. Not enough of them to make a difference anyways. It’s just another check so what’s the big deal? It buys my food, that’s all I need.

Move up from there - unemployment recipients; then food stamp recipients; then pieces of the populace of government employees - teachers, postal workers, the military, air traffic/airports/TSA, and other people in the bureaucracy.

Manipulate medicare to only accept the new “correct” currency.

Any one of these can be first. The order I stated them is irrelevant. It’s likely that the teachers could be first, since they would openly embrace it. They also play a good foil on TV for selling the scheme. “See, it’s safe for teachers. It’s safe for you too. Come get your digital currency today!”

It’s not difficult for government to win this, one piece at a time. Not difficult at all. Progressivism has always triumphed by doing it piecemeal, going all the way back to Theodore Roosevelt.

Secondly:

We can’t even get conservatives to move in significant numbers off of Big Tech and its going on years now that the tech companies have been harassing us. People just keep taking it and hoping it will magically go away instead of doing anything about it. Those who refused to fight Big Tech, literally refused, aren’t up to fight the digital currency. It’s not going to happen. Show me your past I’ll show you your future.

We have great people; the best people. But they refuse activism. Activism is a dirty word and even dirtier to conduct. It will not happen.

Mixed sentiments on that one. CBDC is inherently evil but the net effect of a CBDC rollout will be Bitcoin supremacy sooner.

Guess we gotta go through this. We didn’t come here to have it easy in any case.

Once digital ID is accepted, it will make it easier for gvt to push digital currency. Digitation makes control easier, another assault on our freedom.

When the pissant In Canada told the banks to freeze accounts they did. Just an example of what’s to come with digital currency, control. said something we don’t like, support someone we don’t like, say something we dont like. you don’t eat, you have no job, you have no shelter, you and your family die on the vine.

They are going to shut down all non-government cryptocurrencies.

All the folks you mentioned and especially me on Social Security already experience the digital revolution.

I don’t receive SS funds by cash or the quasi cash of a paper check. The monthly payment is made directly into my checking account. I find that out by looking on my computer for my personal
ledger maintained at the website of my bank.
